Dear Potential Sponsor,
Salam alaikum (peace be upon you),
Eid Al Fitr is one of the major festivals in the Islamic calendar. This year, we want to move beyond just a
barbecue in a park and truly capitalize on the joy and celebration of Eid. Instead of just being a day off
from work, we aim to embrace our Eid with the largest Eid festival ever seen in Edmonton.
We have activities catering to all ages, from children to adults to seniors, including:






“Taste of Eid” food concessions
Bazaar
Pony rides
Petting zoo
Acrobatic entertainment
Bouncy castles
And more.
We are aiming big this year. To achieve all of this, we are asking for your help. There are several
sponsorship levels available to you, either on an individual level or from your business. Sponsorship
money will go towards covering the cost of this year’s EidFest—approximately $25,000. Sponsors will be
given a table to advertise their business, as well as other benefits and opportunities that can be found in
this package.
Your donation is tax deductible.
By supporting EidFest 2015, you are supporting the spirit of unity that the Muslim community is in need
of. We ask that you donate generously to help us make this the biggest Eid festival yet, and help Muslims
truly embrace their Eid.

The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is a religious, educational, social, charitable and nonprofit organization. MAC provides services and programs designed to assist in the holistic
educational and spiritual development of the Muslim individual and family. A primary tenet of
MAC is community involvement and service not only with the Muslim community, but with
every community, regardless of faith or background.

The full name, Eid Al-Fitr, roughly translates
to “Celebration of Breaking the Fast”. It is a
celebratory day following Ramadan, the
month of fasting. During it, Muslims feast
and exchange gifts with each other.
Edmonton is known as the Festival City. This
year we want to hold an Eid celebration
large and diverse enough to be recognized
under that banner. We want to bring the
Muslim community together to celebrate
this special day, and make it the biggest Eid
festival in Edmonton’s history.
