City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over with its exquisite architecture and ancient
University. Thankfully, the Midsomer Murders are fictional, but the villages and market towns
seen in each episode are not, the period properties in locations are full of character and charm.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Depart South Wales travelling to Oxford via
Cirencester and Lechlade.
Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast we drive to Oxford.
The morning is at leisure before our included guided
tour where we follow in the footsteps of the city's
celebrated TV detective and his successor, Lewis,
created by Oxford author Colin Dexter. Visit the scenes
of their best-known cases with lots of lively anecdotes
along the way.
Day 3 A full day tour passing through the towns and
villages used as filming locations within the Midsomer
Murders TV series. At the heart of Midsomer Murders is
the town of Causton, aka Wallingford. Immerse

we have booked a boat to take you to the house which
has a history of filming, having caught the eye of
location managers with The Eagle has Landed,

series of Midsomer Murders. We include a guided tour
of the House and watermill and we end the day with a
cream tea. The tour is only meant as a taster, and not a
definitive guide to the television series.
Day 4 We return to South Wales via Bourton on the
Water in the Cotswolds and Cheltenham.
