Hack TM 16-17th of May @Timisoara Startup Hub What is HackTM Medical? Event concept HackTM Medical is a 36 hours medium-sized hackathon centrated on finding innovative tech solutions to solve global health issues. As most experiments occur in restrictive, classified settings, we wish to bring together both medical representatives and tech people to contribute with know-how and hands-on experience into leverage digital tools in a creative, safe and productive environment. Mission Being the first e-health hackathon organized in Western Romania, our primary goal is to introduce the concept of e-health hackathons, consequently encouraging ‘smart’ medicine by health care hacking. Technologies The participants will be challenged to provide solutions developed on mobile, web, wearables (Pebble, Myo, Muse, Jawbone) and specific medical devices. We encourage attendees to make use mainly of .NET, but is also allowed to use PHP, Ruby/Rails, Python, Javascript, Node.JS, Android or iOS. Participants HackTM Medical is dedicated to IT professionals and Computer Science students to provide genuine tech solutions, young and active Medicine practitioners to assure health literacy, and last but not least, designers to connect human to technology through explanatory visuals. As a medium-sized event, we estimate the participation of ±80 people, among which a number of 10-12 medical students and young/ active doctors, 7-8 designers and 50-60 programmers. Attending the events implies cross-professional collaboration as in teamwork and will be facilitated by experienced mentors, more likely representatives from sponsoring companies. Participation will be free of charge, but conditioned by beforehand registration.
