Proposal for 174 East 108th Street
MISSION STATEMENT Our goal is to transform a vacant, underutilized lot into a thriving community space and urban garden. We believe this project will increase the value of the surrounding properties and improve the quality of life for ourselves as well as our East Harlem neighbors, by first creating a safe clean relaxing environment such as a community garden. A space where local artist and youth can have a positive nurturing place to showcase their talent, a place where the people can get involved and truly feel apart of the community and gain a sense of pride in it. It will be a place where the urban youth can partake in urban agricultural projects and learn how to live off the land. I am in the process of reaching out to residents, businesses, organizations and other establishments to seek their support by becoming a partner/sponsor and or volunteer. The location in mind is Manhattan block 1635,lot 43 at 174 East 108th Street between 3rd & Lexington Ave. PLEASE HELP US BRING LIFE TO THIS EMPTY LOT IN OUR COMMUNITY Triple M Community Garden We have been in contact with Thehbia Walters at Housing Preservation and Development, she has been very supportive and is the person who told us to get in contact with the Nancy Kohn the Director at Green Thumb who had Mr. Rasheed Hislop contact us he has also has been very supportive and informed us that we now need a letter of support from our Community Board .
