Learning Objectives/ ASPH Competencies: By attending this seminar series, students will be able to: Learning Objectives 1. 2. 3. Identify important current and emerging environmental health issues and topics. Define potential educational and career goals in the field of environmental health. Demonstrate how principles in environmental health are applied in real life situations and problems. ASPH Competencies B4. Specify current environmental risk assessment methods. C5. Comprehend basic ethical and legal principles pertaining to the collection, maintenance, use and dissemination of epidemiological data. H3. Articulate an achievable mission, set of core values and vision. H4. Engage in dialogue and learning from others to advance public health goals. D3. Describe methods of ensuring community health safety preparedness. E6. Describe the role of social and community factors in both the onset and solution of public health problems. G9. Cite examples of situations where consideration of culture-specific needs resulted in a more effective modification or adaptation of a health intervention. Course Grading: Grading (Pass/No Pass) is based on attendance and class participation. Students are allowed 2 excused absences. If the student is over the allotted number of absences, he/she must complete a makeup assignment for each absence thereafter. Please make sure to contact Nancy M.
