Georgina, a Year 11 student at Ysgol Eirias, went to Angers in France to spend a two-week holiday
with Charlotte and her family, before Charlotte came to see Georgina in North Wales.
Georgina said: “Snapchatting Charlotte was great practice before my writing exam to improve my
spellings and accents!
“Now that we’ve met our through the exchange visits our confidence has really improved as we can
see exactly how much we do know outside of the classroom.”
Ilid Williams, Head of French, said: “I’m delighted that the girls had taken the initiative to organise
their own visit and made it happen with the support of their families.
“It is a hugely worthwhile opportunity to consolidate their language especially so close to the GCSE
exams.”
Georgina and Charlotte hope that their experience will encourage future budding linguists to use
their languages to become more independent jet-setters.
“If we can do it, I’m sure anyone can!” Georgina added.
