Flanders International 2015 For Christchurch teens Charlotte Sullivan and Courtney McGregor the whirlwind of international competition continues. Showcasing some of their best gymnastics skills, the girls recently competed in two international events for Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. Following the New Zealand Teams success in Anadia, Portugal where Charlotte claimed a bronze medal on the beam, they moved onto Belguim, Ghent to compete in the Flanders International. The Belgium Federation arranged training them in the amazing facility attached to the competition stadium. Training with the outstanding Brazilian team the whole week, some of their spark rubbed off on the girls. Training and particularly podium training Courtney and Charlotte were very confident and consistent. On the day of the competition they had a few small landing errors on the floor. The beam and vault were the best apparatus again. Charlotte scored a personal best on Bar and Vault. Charlotte and especially Courtney have very high start values, comparable with Germany (who won the team final combining their Junior and Seniors) and Brazil who placed 1st and 2nd all around. The competition standard was very high, yet there was a nice friendly atmosphere. Many people complemented New Zealand, and Charlotte as they had followed the girl’s success the previous week in Anadia. The girls closer to Rio.
