Advantages of a Disc-Style Chipper:
The disc in our chippers set on an approximate angle of 45º to the feed wheels which allows it to
chip larger diameter materials better than a drum. This angle allows the material to be chipped with
the grain of the wood, creating less vibration and consuming less energy. Similar to whittling, cutting
with the knives at a ﬁxed angle requires less energy to chip, which reduces fuel consumption.

We also offer super-sized feed systems to more easily process forked material. The super-sized infeed options
allow limby material to be pulled into the chipper by increasing the width of the feed wheels. The larger

The chipper housing is solidly built of welded construction to handle the pounding that results from
the chipping of larger materials. The knives are set at a precise angle to the feed wheels so that they
pull wood into the chipper, while limiting or eliminating kickback–which is key to our chippers’ high
production and dependability. All of our disc-style chippers are equipped with over-sized chipper
shafts and bearings. A smooth chipping action limits vibration and reduces maintenance.

individual needs. We do not manufacture “cookie cutter” machines. Our assembly teams

This rugged, compact 6” capacity hydraulic-feed disc-style chipper is the primary unit for many tree and landscape
contractors, and makes a great rental machine! Ideal for the everyday rental user, the light tree removal

Bandit drum-style chippers offer an oversized drum and heavy-duty construction for the
ultimate in efﬁciency and durability. A larger diameter drum means greater torque for smoother
chipping and less vibration. Material is chipped primarily on the bottom half of the drum, which
reduces fuel consumption, requires less energy, and adds to the longevity of your machine.

Bandit chippers chip smoothly without a lot of vibration because of the unique knife angle. From
studying the unique chipping characteristics of the drum-style chipper, we set the angle of the
knife to the arc of the drum so that it will aggressively dive into the wood, pulling the material
towards the drum, but not at such a severe angle that it creates chattering or vibration. The knife
angle is one of the reasons why our machines chip so smoothly with less noise and vibration than
the competition, resulting in better fuel economy and less wear and tear on the machine.

undercarriage option for many chippers.
The self-propelled undercarriage option eliminates the
need to carry and forward trees and brush. Caterpillar®
rubber-tracked undercarriages provide our self-propelled
chippers with the power, clearance and stability for off-highway
road work. These self-propelled chippers are ideal for land clearing
as well as right-of-way and rail line maintenance. Adding a
winch option enhances the machine’s ability to process whole
trees. A radio remote control with tether remote backup is
provided. Track chippers can also provide longer chipper
knife life by traveling to the wood being chipped, rather
than skidding the brush through dirt and mud.

The new Quick-Change Rotary Drum chippers from Bandit cut
knife changing time in half, make it easier to set the knife to the
anvil, and easy to remove the shaft of the drum should the need
arise. Knife maintenance is very important on these dependable
chippers. The need to remove the shaft from the drum is not a
common occurrence, but when the
need does arise, the old-style shafts
on conventional drums can be very
difﬁcult to remove. Often, the shaft
must be cut from the drum, ruining
both components. Removing the shaft
from the rotor in the Quick-Change
System is simple and can be easily
completed without damaging the rotor.
With Bandit PTO-driven disc-style chippers, you get the
quality of a Bandit chipper with unique features that enhance
performance and lower your
chipping costs. Other than the main
power source being supplied by the
tractor, the chipper is completely
self-contained and offered for 540or 1000-RPM tractor drives. They
can be purchased as a 3-point hitch
unit or a pull-behind trailerized unit.
A chipper and chip box on a single trailer can save you
money. It eliminates the need for a chip box truck and related
