6th Grade Recognition:
Sixth Grade Recognition is tonight at 7:00 PM. Students are to report to their
homerooms by 6:45 PM. Parents and relatives may find seating in the gym. The
program should last until 8:00 PM, with a reception following in the cafeteria.
As to attire, we ask that girls look nice – dress, skirt, slacks and sandals are fine, but
no flip flops. Boys need to wear dress slacks and a button-down shirt. NO JEANS OR
T-SHIRTS. Dress shoes or sandals would be best, but we are ok with tennis shoes that
are dark in color. (Not many boys these days have dress shoes.)
Book Rental:
There are still 54 students who owe Book Rental. Payments may be sent to HR
Management, or they can be dropped off at the Eastwood office through June 4th.
Medications:
If your child has medications in the nurse’s office, please pick them up no later than
June 5th. All medicines left at school will be discarded.
From the Cafeteria:
Any lunch money that is remaining in your students lunch account at the end of the
school year will carry over with the students I.D. # to the next year. We print a hard
copy of all balances, in case the computer system would crash over the summer. The
same is true for 6th graders moving on to Middle School, as well as students
transferring from one Elkhart Community School to another. If you have any
questions, feel free to call the Eastwood Cafeteria at ext. 7138.
Student Council News:
 Last day for Smencil sales is Friday, May 29th. Smencils are $1.00.
 Green Lockers: Again, we will have bins in the Commons Area for students’
surplus of notebooks, pencils, crayons etc. These items are then distributed to
groups that work with children over the summer.
 Plastic caps will be collected until May 29th.
Last Day of School:
On the last day of school, students will get to visit next year’s classroom! They will get
to meet their new teacher and classmates. They will be receiving a supply list for the
fall as well. The fall supply lists are also listed on the Eastwood website.
