They p u r c h a s e d the long-closed Penn-Can Mall about three years ago and undertook a massive renovation and rehabilitation project. The mall itself is in the process of being restored. In December the famous clock, which graced the center court for nearly two decades, was restored and returned to its original location. The mall will include a food court on the first floor, several retail stores, and Aspen Athletics Fitness Center on the second floor. There will be a children's play area as well as a Nascar/Silicon Motor Speedway. The former theater complex will be replaced by a training hall and banquet facility. Renovation began with t h e demolition of portions of the old mall that connected t h e Burlington store on the south side and the former Ames Department store on the north. "We then began construction on several dealerships on the west end, and built a loop road to encircle the property," Roger Burdick said. There's more to Driver's Village than brick, mortar and steelwork. Roger Burdick said, " W e ' r e changing the way we operate. We've refined all our sales and service processes to make this experience faster and easier for our customers."
