Please review the grid to become familiar with progress of colleagues. If additional information needs to be added please let Emily know. SPROC Project Progress Report: HRSA EMSC Program Director Theresa Morrison-‐-‐-‐Quinata (Tee) shared that grantees should have received information regarding annual noncompeting continuation project progress report. This report is due March 30. Questions or concerns please reach out to Tee. Regional EMSC Symposiums: Tee reported that EMSC Regional Symposiums are in the planning stages. A map illustrating regional breakdowns was shown (http://www.emscnrc.org/files/PDF/Grantee_Portal/2014_Regional_Map.pdf). SPROC grantees were matched to the various regions. All SPROC grantees should feel comfortable in attending the regional meetings if their schedules will allow. Dates and information for regional meetings can be found below. • California and Alaska SPROC are both in the PREP region. PREP will be meeting with the Red River and PIER regions in San Diego, California on August 4th and 5th. • Montana, Arizona, and New Mexico SPROC are in the IRECC region which will be meeting with the HECC region in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 7th and 8th. • Pennsylvania SPROC is in the Atlantic region and their conference will be held with the New England EMSC SP grantees in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania August 11th – 13th. • There are no SPROC grantees in either the CARE or SERC regions which will be partnering with one another. Their meeting will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on June 23rd – June 24th. SPROC Project Highlight Webinars: To highlight the EMSC SPROC projects the Program and NRC have been working together to plan webinars on each of the projects. On November 17th, the project work of Dr. Marcin and Dr. Sapien was highlighted. Planning is presently underway to highlight the other SPROC projects via webinars. More information regarding these educational events will be forth coming. SPROC Project Evaluation and Product Development: Dr. Sapien shared a proposed grid for developing a compendium on SPROC projects which will include an evaluation of each project at various stages of development. The grid utilizes a SWOT, Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, evaluation process. This tool focuseds on evaluating the processes of project development. Dr. Sapien asked grantees to review the grid as to whether or not it could be an effective means of evaluating the processes utilized to develop individual SPROC projects. The grid follows this summary. This will be further discussed next call. Tee inquired as to whether there may be other processes that could effectively provide a mechanism to also evaluate the projects. Emily suggested that a recent CDC document sharing information on a program evaluation process implemented by the CDC might also have components that could be considered for evaluation of SPROC. This document will be sent to the grantees for additional consideration. Diana shared information on a public health evaluation process utilized for evaluating systems of care. The documents for this evaluation include a series of benchmarking criteria with associated Likert scales or a numerical scale, 1-‐5, reflective of individual components of system development for each of these criteria. This might be able to be utilized to measure long term impact and change over time on pediatric regionalized systems of care as a result of or continued funding of SPROC projects. The tool, as Diana is familiar with, has been used for benchmarking and evaluating state trauma systems of care and thus the criteria is trauma system specific but could be adapted for SPROC. Diana will adapt a few of the benchmarking criteria and provide this information to the SPROC grantees for consideration to review and prepare for the next quarterly conference call. Other Items of Interest: Dr. Sapien shared that a conference on regionalization will be held June 18th at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Arizona. For those interested in the conference, please contact Dr. Sapien for additional information. Next SPROC call will be June 18, 2015.
