exploitation and violence against women
and help showcase the many positive
male role models within this sport.
Nick is an ex-professional Rugby
League footballer who had a nine
year career playing for the Brisbane
Broncos. Nick has been involved with
PROJECT FUTURES since 2012, when
he participated in an international half
marathon in Cambodia. Nick, with a
small group of friends, collectively raised
$50,000 for our work on the ground in
the country. A year later, Nick challenged
himself again this time running a full
marathon in Perth, raising $25,000.
From 1st June until the end of July, Nick
will be cycling from Darwin to Adelaide in
support of one of PROJECT FUTURES
biggest campaigns, Stella Fella. Nick has
been a Stella Fella ambassador since
2012, encouraging men and boys to
make respectful and responsible choices
in relation to women.
Nick will also be leading the PROJECT
FUTURES first ever Stella Fella Cycle
Challenge across Cambodia in October
this year. He will be joined by 25 other
men who will raise funds to support our
in-country projects. This trip will highlight
the global issue of human trafficking and
in particular, the exploitation and violence
against women and girls.
As a professional football player, he
has seen how the game he loves
has been tainted by negative media
surrounding some players who make
decisions that are wrong, affecting the
sport’s reputation. His goal is to lead by
