Happy New Year ... and welcome back to the Michigan Buggy
Builders VW and Off-Road Trade Show & Swap Meet. As we
prepare for the upcoming 30th annual event, we would like to
remind you to mark your calendars for March 27, 2011.
Enthusiasm is already at a high, and we’ve received several
calls from people wanting to register early. So, it looks like the
event is going to be a good one this year.
We are very grateful and pleased to announce that this year’s
event sponsor will once again be Mears Metal Products, longtime Volkswagen hobbyists and off-road car builders, headquartered in Mears near the Silver Lake Sand Dunes.
Their title sponsorship has enabled us to maintain our even larger direct mailing, which we are distributing throughout the midwest region. This means that if you sign up for a booth, you will
see a good amount of foot traffic because we are doing our part
to let as many people know about the show as possible.
We are very happy to report that Jeff Wilson’s Michgian-based Mears
Metal Products will once again be the lead sponsor of the Buggy
Builders Show.
Mears Metal Products (MMP) has been building VWs and off-road
cars since the early 1980s, and now they have opened a second location to better serve their customers. The new shop is next to the BP
gas station on Polk Road, conveniently located on your way to the
Silver Lake Dunes, only 1 mile west of US 31.
This second location on Polk Road specializes in new parts for all
types of vehicles, as well as repairs, and they still have the original
location on Fox Road where they build sand cars, race cars and do
custom fabrication.
Be sure to stop by their booth at the show to see examples of their
fabrication work and the cars they’ve built. They are also offering show
specials with low pricing, and they even have hard-to-find original and
NOS parts for your VW restoration project.
As you look through the pages of this year’s mailer, you will find
all the information needed to plan your trip to the Michigan
Buggy Builders Show. There’s also a section of Business
Sponsors who supported this mailer and the show, so be sure to
take a look at their ads as well.
The following pages also include sign-up forms for those of you
who want a selling spot at the show, as well as hotel accommodations in the greater Lansing area. Our web-site also includes

The 2011 show will have the same format at previous years,
featuring more than 300 selling spots filled with new and used
parts for all types of vehicles, as well as collectible toys,
Volkswagen items, and hard to find vintage parts.
Remember, each year there are new people selling at the show,
so you are bound to see new faces and find some good parts at
a great deal. And, if you’re considering having a booth at the
show, it’s important to know that many sellers report that they
make enough to pay for their booth and expenses.

TICKETS: Tickets will go on sale at 9:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Lansing Center on the day of the show.

they offer a great room rate!

HOW TO GET THERE: The Lansing Center is located in downtown Lansing, Michigan at 333 East
Michigan Ave. When you get into the Lansing area, take freeway I-496 and go to Exit #7, then get on
Larch Street and go 3 blocks North to Michigan Ave. Turn left, and you will see the Lansing Center
one block down the street on the right side.

CITY ORDINANCE: NO STREET SELLING!
EXHIBITOR REGISTRATION FORM
SELLING & SHOWING SPOTS: The size of each space is 10-feet wide by 12-feet long for $75.00. Two people will be admitted free per spot.
2 more passes can be purchased for $20.00 each, which are for people that will help set up your booth. You will receive one vehicle
pass for each space rental. This will allow one car or truck with trailer to enter the Lansing Center. This means you will need to have
all your stuff in one vehicle NOT 2 or 3. If everything is not inside one vehicle, you will have to unload outside and carry everything
inside. Friends who want spots next to each other need to be in line together before entering the building.
Deadline for purchase of extra worker passes will be March 9th, 2011. Make sure you have all that you need by then. We will not
sell any after March 9th, and you can not purchase any at the door, unless arrangements have been made by phone for will call.
TABLES are $15.00 each for a 8-foot table, plus a $50.00 deposit that will be returned at the end of the show when you turn in your
table. ($50.00 deposit applies whether you rent 1 or 15 tables).Table rental is not required, but offered as a convenience.
Chairs are $3.00 each to rent, or you can bring your own.
All spots are reserved in advance by full payment. After March 9th, 2011 any available spots will be $85.00 each. There will be no
refunds after March 9th, 2011. Remember, this event sells out every year. To insure you receive a spot, sign up early!
A Confirmation Letter, your Exhibitor Tickets, and the Vehicle Passes will be mailed to you.
ELECTRIC for show or selling spots is $60.00 for up to 3 plugs that you plug into the Lansing Center.
SHOW CLASSES: Sand Sports Magazine is looking for the best Dune Buggy in the Midwest. If you think your Buggy or ATV is one of the
best in this area here is your chance to prove it. The Buggies and ATVs will be judged and the winner will get Bragging Rights of having the BEST BUGGY or ATV in the Midwest, plus a BIG Trophy. The class is open to all vehicles. It is $45.00 to enter each vehicle.
This will admit one person free with the show vehicle. You can buy up to two more worker passes for a total of 3. This is for SHOW
ONLY! Nothing can be for sale on these spots. Trophies will be given for Best of Show, Best Paint and Best Engineererd.
