Professor Kruth will give a survey of “laser additive manufacturing,” including important academic research activities as well as industrial business development through creation of spin-­‐
off companies, in particular the incorporation of the company Materialise anno 1990 and of the company LayerWise in 2008, who became part of the 3D System group at the end of 2014. The talk will successively survey the activities on laser-­‐based AM for production of polymer parts, of metal parts and of ceramic components. proudly presents
