FACULTY POSITIONS (NON-‐TENURE TRACK): DIVISION OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT This is an exciting time for College of Public Health at Temple University. We are experiencing unprecedented growth in enrollment, graduate programs and research. Over the next four years, the College will expand its footprint with a new building and add 50 faculty members across the 9 public health and health-‐related professions departments. In 2014, Dean Laura A. Siminoff, an eminent public health social, joined the College and under her leadership, CPH is engaging in a realignment of interdisciplinary research and academic programming within Public Health. As part of that growth, in July we are inaugurating a new Department of Health Services Administration and Policy to include a Division of Health Information Management. We are seeking innovative and experienced non-‐tenure track faculty to teach in our nationally recognized graduate and undergraduate programs in Health Informatics and Health Information Management. We are looking for candidates with interests and experience in teaching in the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI), a postgraduate certificate, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (BSHIM). Area of specialization is open, but candidates should possess a sufficiently broad skill set to teach in the area of health information technology and/or health information management. Eligible candidates must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree, PhD preferred in Informatics or related field. At least three years of instructional experience at the university level, demonstrated administrative experience and relationships with healthcare industry organizations, and strong curricular development background preferred. Temple University is an urban, research-‐intensive university located in Philadelphia. Temple is the 6th-‐largest provider of professional education in the country and includes Schools of Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Podiatry, and Dentistry in addition to research centers including the NCI-‐designated Fox Chase Cancer Center. The College of Public Health enrolls 4,600 students across our departments with a faculty of 155. We have 10 faculty in the emerging Department of Health Services, Administration and Policy with 5 faculty in the Division of Health Information Management. There are 140 students in our undergraduate and graduate HIM programs, which are full accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Temple’s Health Information Management programs are well known for cultivating HIM practitioners who are able to meet the needs of a variety of employers, advocate for patients and consumers in HIM-‐related matters, and play a vital role in the transition to electronic health records. The BSHIM program focuses on management, finance and health technology. The MSHI specializes in the electronic health record. We are developing additional certificate programs and seek faculty with entrepreneurial experience and digital education experience. Appointment can be made at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, dependent on qualifications.
