VTrans Highway Division Asset Management – Tech Apprentice

Overview
VTrans Highway Division is looking to fill 7 temporary positions within the Asset Management
Team. Work in this position will be performed in close coordination with technical and maintenance
staff. The position will utilize historic construction plans to locate and assess culverts along state
highways using GPS technology. The successful candidates will possess personal initiative, technological
aptitude and ability to complete field work. This is a full time temporary position that runs from June 1st,
2015 to September 30th, 2015.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities





Basic Knowledge of GPS/GNSS data design, collection and data processing,
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing,
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships,
Ability to work along state highways for long periods of time,
Skills in time management and task prioritization.
Working Conditions
Duties will generally be performed in the field setting, working as part of a team through various
weather conditions. Positions will be hired in the following areas:
 Derby (1)
 Dummerston (2)
 St. Johnsbury (2)
 White River Jct. (2)
