Title: Engineered Wood Designer, Engineering Department Company: National Lumber Company Location: Mansfield, MA General Job Description: I-Joist, LVL, OJ2000, Steel and Post Sizing, CAD Design Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Correctly size I-Joist, LVL, OJ2000, structural posts and steel. 2. Convert dimensional lumber floor layouts to an EWP alternate. 3. Follow proper design templates and systems for all EWP Design. 4. Make sure layouts get to EWP Production Coordinator prior to order shipment. 5. Constantly enhance and improve design standards that will provide superior framing layouts for our customers. 6. Maintain an organized, clean and neat work area. 7. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job. 8. Always maintain a positive image as a National Lumber representative. Address any situation in a professional manner. 9. Adhere to all National Lumber Company standards and follow the regulations in the National Lumber Employee Handbook. 10. Other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Physical Demands/Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Noise level in the work environment is quiet to noisy. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee in this position is generally required to sit. This position requires long periods of sitting and using a computer. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Frequently required to walk to and from various areas within the facility. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
