TURGUT OZAL UNIVERSITY
Established in 2009 in Etlik, Turgut Ozal University began its education
program in the School of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In
2010, the Schools of Law and Engineering opened. Our expansion
continued in 2013 as we opened the Schools of Medicine, Physical
Therapy and Rehabilitation; the School of Nursing in Gimat; and the
Ankara Vocational School of Health and Occupational Health Sciences
in Ostim. Our university now carries on its educational programs in
three different campuses.

Message From the Rector
Turgut Özal University bears the name of the Turkish Republic's 8th President, who placed great importance and value on education. He emphasized that
the most efficient investment is one placed in human resources and education. He brought about important developments in expanding Turkey's outlook
abroad and expanding freedoms necessary for far-reaching improvement in institutions of higher education, thus directing Turkey toward a position of
greater effectiveness, influence, and to attain the standards of developed countries.
Turgut Özal University seeks to become one of the best in the country by having a mission of educating analytical, unbiased students who can capture,
adapt and surpass current levels of knowledge while embracing and maintaining an open perspective.
Our university desires to host qualified students who have foreign language proficiency, who conduct research and think deeply in a multi-cultural and
international environment. We aim to provide a modern infrastructure, a modern educational environment for research, and an active and a dynamic

Message From the Director
We offer education in Basic and Clinical Sciences with powerful and dynamic
academic staff at our Gimat Campus in Ankara.
In addition to physiotherapists who lecture on occupational subjects and provide
clinical practice, Basic Medical Sciences are taught by the staff in our School of
Medicine gives each student an opportunity to learn through a rich curriculum. Our
students will train to become physiotherapists who are ethical and have the
qualities needed in their profession and they will be able to find employment in
many different areas such as universities, state or private hospitals, medical
centers, private clinics, houses of care, professional sport clubs or thermal hotels.
So that the students may have national and international ties, our school
cooperates with leading schools and professors.

History
Physiotherapy was created to overcome the loss of
functional ability. Suitable treatments were developed to
restore physical ability after war injuries, traumas, and
polio epidemics, and, through many stages, was accepted
as a widespread practice.
Due to advances in medicine and many developments in
health care, a patient’s chances of survival has increased.
As a patient acknowledges that the quality of living
is as important as being alive, there is a need for
physiotherapists to expand the definition of ‘being
healthy’ along a wider perspective.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
• Students are accepted according to the
Central Exam for Higher Education (YGS)-2
• You have to choose at least one program
about Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation on the
Student Selection and Placement Center
(ÖSYM) opt-in form
• Education period is 4 years
