Carlisle Bike Fest
Welcome to the Carlisle Bike Fest
and thank you for joining us! Whether
you are here for a few hours or spending the entire weekend with us, our goal
is to present you with the best motorcycle event that we can so that when you
leave Carlisle, you will do so entertained
and with fond memories.
Our friends in the industry are so
much a part of this event and help us to
make it what it is. The biggest names in the industry have
chosen to be here because of you. Kawasaki, Suzuki and
Yamaha are on the fairgrounds offering demos of their latest models. Three of Central PA’s regional Harley-Davidson
dealerships are also here. Make sure you take a ride out
to their showrooms for activities happening throughout the
weekend. We also have an overwhelming amount of companies offering installations, service work, parts and accessories – on the Manufacturers Midway and vendor areas.
Take a moment to check out their on-site deals.
If you are the type of Biker that wants to be a part of the
activity (like most of us), we have plenty to keep you busy.
Wow the crowd and become a YouTube star by signing up
for the Carlisle Burnout Contest. If the burnout contest isn’t
your speed, try your balance on the Wheelie Machine or
show us your skills in the field games. The Multiple Sclerosis
Society has put together some great stops for Saturday and
Sunday Poker Runs. Check out pages 23-29 for our entire
schedule of events and event descriptions.
We also have ride-in bike shows, bands, stunt shows and
three awesome giveaways. Be sure to read this directory
to fit in as much as you can. This has to be one of the most
action-and activity-packed Bike Fests that we’ve hosted.

Featured MIDWAY Guests
Biker Billy
Bill Hufnagle, aka Biker Billy, is a longtime Carlisle
friend who is the host of a cable cooking show and the
author of four cookbooks, most recently Roadhouse
Cookbook – Adventures in Roadside Cuisine. A Harley rider who loves all things hot and spicy, Biker Billy
has been on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Live
with Regis and Kelly, Good Morning America, and National Public Radio. He lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just north of Asheville, NC. Biker Billy will be
signing his latest book and giving cooking demonstrations all weekend. Don’t miss your chance to meet a
true gearhead gourmet.
Brian Klock of
-Klock Werks Kustom Cycle
Brian Klock and the crew from Klock Werks have
been featured in numerous magazines and on the Discovery Channel for customizing sportsters, choppers,
bobbers, custom baggers and any other bike they can
get their hands on. Located in Mitchell, South Dakota,
Brian and his team have figured out they need to be
“ready to work on whatever comes through the door.”
One of the many specialties for the Klock Werks crew
is custom baggers which are hot right now; don’t miss
some of their incredible long-haul rides.

Featured MIDWAY Guests
Garage-Girls
Laura Klock will be joining Sara Liberte and Jody
Perewitz to meet with fans and share her awesome
stories and experience in breaking land speed records
and helping to run a successful custom bike shop and
design team. Laura is currently the Vice President of
Klock Werks Kustom Cycles in Mitchell, South Dakota
and holds the AMA and SCTA national land speed records set at the Bonneville Salt Flats. When she isn’t
breaking speed records on her own, Laura is doing
so with her daughters Erika and Karlee. The trio is
the first mother-daughter team to hold records at the
same time.
Sara Liberte is owner operator of RT’s North Hills
Cycle, Inc. in Pittsburgh. There she designs custom
paint work, custom builds cycles and manages the
parts and service of the shop. Sara has been working with motorcycles for the last 12 years and recently
penned the book “How to Repair and Maintain American V-Twin Motorcycles.” Also known for her writing
and photography, Sara has worked as a free-lancer
covering all aspects of the motorcycle world.
Jody Perewitz has been surrounded by motorcycles
her whole life as a part of the family business. Jody’s
family business just happens to be one of the most
notable custom motorcycle shops in the country:
Perewitz Cycle Fabrications. Jodi has had her hand
in numerous motorcycle builds coming out of Perewitz
Cycle Fabrications, including her own 1963 Panhead.
In addition to building and her everyday duties as part
of the Perewitz team, Jody coordinates marketing and
their website perewitz.com.

Sam Nehme - BMS Choppers
You will always find Sam and BMS Choppers at the
biggest events in the country: Bike Week, Biketoberfest and here at Bike Fest this weekend. Sam Nehme
and his crew at BMS Choppers are recognized as one
of the leading custom builders of metric choppers
(sorry Harley owners). Their bikes have been featured
on numerous front covers, including RoadBike, Crossroads, Hot Action, V-Twin, and Kranked. Nehme is
probably most recognized as the winner of TV’s Metric
Revolution - Biker Build-Off. It was on that show that
he beat out 10 other builders to win a $50,000 grand
prize in 2006. Sam’s art with metrics will be on display
at the Carlisle Bike Fest and we expect to see him on
builder roundtables and other activities at the event.

been working on bikes for
over 20 years. TOCC has

first on the custom sport
bike scene, setting the bar

is unsecured wireless access to the Internet. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your information and your equipment when accessing the
Internet. Carlisle Events assumes no responsibility and shall not be liable for any
damages to your computer equipment or other property as a result of your use
of this hot spot. Vendors in Buildings T, Y or Z wishing to have Internet access
should make arrangements prior to the event for “DSL” with the same provider
of phone service to their sites.
PETS
Pets are strongly discouraged for health and safety reasons. If you cannot make
other arrangements for boarding, your pet must be on a leash and policing after
it is required. Your pet must be under your control at all times, and you are fully
responsible for its actions. Any offensive or unsafe action by your pet may result
in expulsion without refund.
TRANSPORTATION – ON GROUNDS
For safety reasons, the use of all personal means of transportation (bikes,
scooters, golf carts, ATVs, motorcycles or minibikes, etc.) is forbidden on the
Fairgrounds from 7 a.m.- 5 p.m. on all show days. No unlicensed drivers may
operate these vehicles at any time. Verification of insurance is required.
WARNING TO ALL SHOW ATTENDEES
Dangerous conditions can exist on the Fairgrounds. Due to exposure to the
weather, areas may become slippery or soft. Due to the nature of the goods
displayed, heavy and sometimes dangerous equipment and moving vehicles are
frequently present. Carlisle Productions cannot be responsible for the conduct of
vendors and patrons entering these premises. Those who enter the Fairgrounds
do so at their own risk.

“Kids at Carlisle” is located inside of Building R, near Gate
2, and open to all children ages 3-12,* with fun activities that
parents and kids can enjoy together. Craft activities and
indoor play, plus an outdoor swing set and play house.

Saturday: 10 AM - 4 PM
Carlisle Cuties Contest
Babies and Toddlers, up to age 3. Tots dress to impress in
Biker and/or Carlisle apparel! Meet at the stage on Saturday at 4:45. Cuties will be introduced to the audience at the
grandstand. Photo-ops with Mandy the Mechanic and Motorhead Max, the Carlisle Mascots. All participants receive
a small toy. The cutie with the best outfit (selected by
staff) receives a US Savings Bond.
*Attention Parents: Please be advised that Kids at Carlisle is
not a child care service. Parental supervision is required at all

This weekend two lucky bikers chosen on June 15th
will win biker makeovers from Garage-Girls Sara Liberte
and Jody Perewitz and one grand-prize winner will not

with the Garage-Girls to collect essays and photos from

Excitement and satisfaction were important parts of Larry Koup’s life. In the 1960s,
his motorcycle exploits excited crowds along the east
coast with wins that included the Windber Road Race and
the Daytona 200 Sportsman Class. Today his legacy brings
satisfaction to hundreds of motorsports enthusiasts in central Pennsylvania through sales and service.
Larry, with the help of his father Ralph, opened Koup’s
Cycle Shop in a garage behind their Oberlin, PA, home in
1957. It started as a part-time business selling the Kawasaki and BSA line of motorcycles.
Today it’s Koup’s Cycle Shop Inc. with Kawasaki, Suzuki and Ducati motorcycles as well as Kawasaki Jet Skis.
Ralph and Larry have since passed away, but it’s still a family affair with Larry’s wife Zelda and son David carrying on
the franchise. David caught the motorcycling bug, too, and
began riding at the age of 6. Today he is the general manager and loves every minute of it.

Located in a trailer on “Duke’s Blvd.” north of the trees and on

Chip Miller, co-founder of Carlisle Events died in March
2004 of complications related to Amyloidosis. Chip may
have been diagnosed earlier and still be with us today
had awareness of the disease been greater. Amyloidosis is a disease caused by the abnormal accumulation
of protein molecules in body tissues. Signs and symptoms depend on the organs affected. The wide range
of signs and symptoms makes it difficult to diagnose,
and there may even be no symptoms. Some signs and
symptoms may include:
• Swelling of ankles and legs
• Shortness of breath
• Numbness/tingling in hands/feet
• Abnormal protein in urine
• Severe fatigue
• Enlarged tongue
• Irregular heartbeat
• Difficulty swallowing
• Skin changes
• Weakness
• Diarrhea
