How to create Goals on Mi MAP, ESS March, 2015 Introduction Performance Management Process is aimed at helping employees reach their full potential by continuously raising the bar on performance and also aligning the employee contributions to the organization’s objectives. This user guide is meant as a reference for creating your goals on the Mi MAP page on ESS. Key Principles • The ‘ What’ ( goals, targets, objectives ) as well as ‘ How’ ( Values - manner in which results are achieved and responsibilities discharged ) of performance matter. Hence both these will have a certain % weightage attached. • Each employee and his/ her supervisor know the context of the job and hence together they must ensure that the goals set for the employee are of high quality and truly reflective of the job context and organizational priorities at all times. • For the current financial year, the key objective for goal setting purposes will be to document the KRAs agreed in the beginning of the year for a smooth process on ESS Performance Management Process Flow * Half yearly reviews will be a part of the process from next cycle, that is FY16, onwards Creating Goals Reaching the Goal Form 2014-15 1 On Home Page, click on Mi Map tab 2 Click on Goal Form 2014-15 Section 1: Writing your Goals Goals section will have a predefined weightage as per your role 3 Enter your first goal and all associated fields • • • • For each field, the tool tip will help you understand what is to be entered There is a word limit for each field There are a minimum of 3 goals to be entered Under the weightage field, the minimum is 10% and maximum is 40%. Total weightage has to be 100% Start Date and End Date need to be dates in the current financial year only * Do remember to save your form at regular intervals Section 1 Continued: Adding goals 4 Add goals if you would like to enter more than 3 goals There will be an option to remove goals (only if they are more than 3) For each field, the tool tip will help you understand what is to be entered • • Maximum number of goals one can enter is 5 For all goals, all fields are mandatory Section 2 : Values The second section of the goal form is Values, that is “How”. This is in line with our performance philosophy of assessing the ‘How’ of performance for the year – values demonstrated through behaviours, attitude, interactions. • Each employee will see all 5 values on his/ her goal form under Section 2 • Based on the level of the employee – the weightage for this section will vary across three 3 levels: • Individual Contributor – 20% • People Manager – 25% • Function Head – 30% 5 Go through the value descriptors applicable to you Do take a look at the weightage applicable to you Submit your Goal Form 6 Submit your goal form to your supervisor for his/ her approval • Once you submit the goal form, you may be prompted to correct some errors that may have occurred in dates, weightages etc. These errors will be highlighted in yellow • Correct errors if any and ‘Submit’ your goal form for your supervisor’s approval • On submission, your supervisor will get an auto-mailer notifying him that the form is now pending for his/ her approval Thank You!
