This will be the only day items will be accepted by dealers and they must have been pre-registered. Walk in entries will not be accepted. Special Rules 1. Exhibits must have been produced within the last year by Native American Indians of federally regulated tribes. 2. If entering Artwork in Native American Indian Art Gallery, you may not enter Artwork in Hispanic Art, Fine Art Galleries, African American Art or Non-Professional Art. See rules per gallery. 3. Exhibitors must SIGN entry form and give Social Security Number or dealers Tax ID upon registration (number is needed if you receive a cash award or if artwork sells). 4. The IRS regulation requires NMSF to withhold 31% of any payment to individuals who do not give a correct Social Security Number. 5. Entries will be juried by competent, non-competing artists, crafts people and qualified experts selected by the New Mexico State Fair Art Department. 6. All entries and awards in this department shall be subject to the General Rules and Regulations. To be considered for judging each Artist must select up to four (4) pieces per class, upon entering. 7. Expo New Mexico State Fair Management and/or Arts Committee have the right to remove any work not suitable for public viewing. “Expo New Mexico The New Mexico State Fair” is a family oriented event. NA2 8. No exhibit unworthy of an award shall receive one, even though there is no competition, nor shall any exhibit receive an award greater than its merits justify. 9. Every precaution will be taken for the safety of all entries, but in no case will the New Mexico State Fair or the State of New Mexico be responsible for loss or damages to any entry while in the Fair’s possession. Dealers and Artists are encouraged to carry their own insurance. 10. Any authentic Native American item may be entered by the exhibitor. The authenticity of any item entered is the sole responsibility of the exhibitor. Items must remain marked as they were at the time of entry. No item will be accepted from a deceased artist or a live artist that can no longer reproduce his work. The Dealer or exhibitor must have the rightful name and address of maker to enter. Dealer’s address will not be acceptable under makers name. 11. Dealers names and address will not be allowed on back of entry tags. Work entered by dealers may not compete for awards. 12. Award checks will be mailed within 30 days of the show. No more than two premiums will be awarded to a single exhibitor in any one class. 13. Articles entered are for sale. A commission of 25% of the selling price will be made on each article sold. Checks for sold items will be mailed no later than October 11, 2013. 14. Any item purchased at the Native American Gallery must be completely paid for at the time of purchase. Purchasers must present sales slips given them at time of purchase to claim items purchased. No returns or exchanges of sales allowed. 15. Exhibitors must claim each piece by corresponding claim check given them at time of entry. Artists Only: Exhibits can be claimed on Monday, September 23, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Dealers must pick up unsold artwork Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Any exhibits remaining on the Fairgrounds after September 24th becomes the property of the State Fair to be disposed of at its discretion. 16. Honorable mention ribbons are awarded for outstanding articles other than 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners. 17. Please observe number of items permissible to enter in individual sections. 18. Ribbons must remain with articles sold. A duplicate ribbon (if available) or a certificate will be furnished to artist. 19. Exhibitors may photograph their own entries if they desire to do so (Please let State Fair staff know of your intentions). 20. Exhibitor recognizes that marketing of the Fair and its grounds requires use of photography and video. Exhibitor hereby expressly grants to the Fair the irrevocable, assignable right and license to take, use and publish exhibitor images and property without the need for any approval. Exhibitors artwork will not be used for profit. NA3 21. Any motor vehicle which is unlawfully parked is subject to wheel booting immobilization by New Mexico State Fair personnel. An immobilization notice will be placed on your windshield. Upon payment of the One Hundred and Fifty Dollar ($150.00) wheel boot removal fee, the wheel boot mechanism will be removed promptly as reasonable. Where the owner or operator of a wheel booted vehicle fails to make all payments within 24 hours from the time the vehicle is wheel booted, said vehicle becomes subject to being towed. Once a vehicle has been wheel booted and subsequently towed, the registered driver/owner will be responsible for all fees incurred (including wheel boot removal fee, towing and storage fee). Any person(s) who tampers with or damages an immobilizer wheel boot will be responsible for an immobilizer wheel boot replacement cost of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) and face criminal charges. Pottery must be traditionally Native American Indian-made and fired, (unless as stated in class #16-18) and if paint-decorated, painted before firing. Purchase Awards will be chosen by The New Mexico State Fair Arts and Cultural Affairs Committee to become part of the State Fair Permanent Collection. The management reserves the right to postpone a choice until another Fair is scheduled. A 25% commission will be charged on the purchase price stated by the artist at the time of entry. NA12
