Mandatory Submission of Images: Because the booth applications are competitive, artists must submit with their application 4-6 color photos or a CD illustrating the type of work that will be sold at the booth. No slides or Xerox copies will be accepted. At least 4 of the images must be of separate pieces. Emailed photos are preferable, please email to [email protected]. Photographs/CDs will not be returned. If you choose to submit a CD, please make sure there are images on the CD. Please use a permanent marker to label all pictures and CDs. If you are collaborating with another artist on a specific piece, each artist must submit their images separately with their application. Please include the name of the collaborating artist(s) when submitting your images. For promotional purposes, your photos may be used on our website and in promotional materials for the Northwest Native Art Show. If you do not want your images to be used for promotional purposes, please let us know at the time of submission, otherwise your application and photo submission will be deemed as permission to use these images. Northwest Native Art Show Review Board: All applications will be reviewed by the Northwest Native Art Show Review Board. We will notify those accepted through your preferred contact method within four weeks of receiving your application. Application fees will be refunded to artists who are not selected by April 30th, 2014. You may be selected as a wait-list applicant. Moran Consulting does not allow imported, manufactured or mass produced items at the Northwest Native Art Show. Artists must comply with current state, national and international laws and regulations with regard to the use of endangered species materials in their works. Use of such materials should be disclosed, in writing, to the consumer. Basketry All basketry items must be created using traditional methods. Beadwork and Quillwork Imported beadwork is not allowed. Jewelry Only handmade jewelry except for findings such as hooks, cones, or chains. Imported jewelry such as “stringers” are not allowed. Man-made or synthetic stones or materials are not allowed. Stabilized turquoise must be disclosed to the consumer. Wooden Carving All wood carvings must be traditional or contemporary. Each participating artist may submit up to two pieces in the competition. The judge’s panel will be selected by Moran Consulting and Northwest Native Art Show partners. Only artists that are named on Moran Consulting contracts may enter pieces in the competition Should an artist be awarded, prize awards are non-transferable and will only be given to artists named on Moran Consulting contracts. Winners will receive their monetary awards approximately 3 weeks after the show. Entries may be submitted between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18th, 2014. Winners will be announced and winning pieces will be on display at the Friday evening Artist Reception. Winning submissions will be returned to the Artists Saturday morning. All other submissions may be picked up from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday or from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Moran Consulting is not responsible for any submissions not picked up by the times listed above. Winning pieces in all categories will be photographed for marketing and publicity purposes. Deadline to submit entries is 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 9 ARTIST AGREEMENT The Artist Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into as of the date signed below by and between Moran Consulting and (Please print your legal name), hereon referred to as “Artist”. The Artist agrees to abide by the guidelines and terms of agreement listed below. 1. Term: This agreement shall commence on the date signed below, and shall continue through July 20th, 2013. 2. Hold Harmless: The Artist (listed above) agrees to hold harmless Moran Consulting, its officers, directors, employees, partners, associates, affiliates, joint ventures, agents, consultants and representatives from and against any and all losses, claims, damages, actions, causes of action, costs and expenses that the Artist may sustain, incur, suffer or be put to at any time either before, during or after the expiration or termination of the Agreement, where the same or any of them are based upon, arise out of or occur, directly or indirectly, by reason of any act or omission of the Artist or any agent, or employee of the Artist pursuant to this Agreement, excepting liability arising out of the independent negligent acts of Moran Consulting. 3. Insurance: The Artist shall be responsible for obtaining any and all insurance necessary for the Artist, the artwork, and any employees as deemed necessary by the Artist. Moran Consulting will not be responsible for the coverage of any artwork, artist, or artist employee. 4. Rules and Regulations: The Artist agrees that Moran Consulting has the right to establish and enforce all rules and regulations, as it deems proper for the benefit of the Northwest Native Art Show, and the safety and security of all participants, attendees, Moran Consulting staff and property. Should Moran Consulting cancel the event for any reason whatsoever, Moran Consulting will issue a refund of all Booth Fees already collected by Moran Consulting. However, Moran Consulting is not responsible for any other costs already incurred by the Artist. 5. Booth Management: Artist must be present and remain on-site throughout the entire event to present their work to the public. BOOTH SPACE NOT SET UP BY 8:00 a.m. ON SATURDAY, JULY 19th, 2014, WILL BE RELEASED TO ANOTHER ARTIST AND NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED. Moran Consulting is not responsible for any artwork at Northwest Native Art Show. It is the artists’ responsibility to monitor their booth. 10 6. Sales Transactions: Artist agrees to document and manage all sales transactions for their work. In the event Internal Revenue Service or any other government agency should question or challenge Artist Sales, Artist agrees Moran Consulting is not responsible for collection, accounting, and reporting such sales. Artist shall be responsible for the collection, accounting and reporting of all sales. 7. Nature of Relationship: Artist understands this application is for booth space at the Northwest Native Art Show. Artist agrees the submission of this application does not guarantee entry into the Northwest Native Art Show. Artist agrees they shall not have any claim against Moran Consulting for worker’s compensation, unemployment compensation, unemployment insurance, or any other benefits. 8. Entire Agreement: This Agreement represents the entire Agreement of Moran Consulting and the Artist with respect to the Northwest Native Art Show and supersedes all prior discussions, negotiations and agreements related to the same subject matter. 9. Amendments: This agreement may not be waived, modified, amended or revised unless made in writing and signed by both parties. 10. Authority to Sign: The Artist below executing this Agreement represents and warrants that they have the full power and authority to enter into this Agreement. CANCELLATION: Artists that are accepted into the Northwest Native Art Show may cancel their booth request on or before 5:00 p.m. PST on, June 13th, 2014, if he/she is unable to participate for any reason. Notification must be provided in writing via mail or email ([email protected]) and postmarked prior to the above date. Artist application fee will not be reimbursed, however 75% of Artist booth fee will be reimbursed within 30 days of notice. Should notification arrive after the deadline or should the artist fail to appear at the Northwest Native Art Show by 8am on Saturday, July 19th, neither Artist application fee nor any booth fees will be reimbursed. I acknowledge that I have read and agree to all the guidelines and terms of the Agreement between Moran Consulting for the Northwest Native Art Show taking place on Saturday and Sunday, July 19th & 20th at Director Park, 815 SW Park Ave in downtown Portland, OR. Further, I release and hold harmless Moran Consulting and all others, as indicated in Term #2 of this Agreement, from any liability whatsoever. Artist’s Signature Date
