LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS
awarded to an EHS Senior
American Legion Auxiliary, Post 113 Scholarship
All graduating seniors are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Completed applications
must be received by the scholarship committee no later than April 1, 2015.
The Cecilian Bank Scholarship
All graduating seniors are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Completed applications
must be mailed to The Cecilian Bank by April 3, 2015.
Elizabethtown High School Class of 1966 Scholarship
The Elizabethtown High School Class of 1966 Scholarship Fund was established by the Class of 1966 at their 30th
reunion. It is designed to provide scholarship assistance in the form of grants to help defray college or university
expenses of graduating seniors of Elizabethtown High School, Kentucky.
Eligibility
 Graduating senior from Elizabethtown High School, Kentucky
 Cumulative 2.8 GPA
 Demonstrate financial need

Philip “Duke” Owen Memorial Scholarship
The Phillip Duke Owen Scholarship Fund was established to provide scholarship assistance in the form of grants to
defray college or university expenses to graduating seniors of Elizabethtown High School, Kentucky that have
demonstrated school spirit and Panther Pride. Eligible applicants must have participated in a school sport or other extracurricular activities.
Eligibility
 Graduating senior from Elizabethtown High School, Kentucky
 Cumulative 2.0 GPA
 Enrolled to enter a college, university or junior college on a full-time basis in the fall semester following
graduation
 Financial need will be considered, but is not a requirement

Elizabethtown Lions Club
The Elizabethtown Lions Club will award a $1500 scholarship to a 2015 graduate of Elizabethtown High School.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be received by the Lions Club Scholarship Committee no
later than April 30, 2015.
The American Legion Hardin Post 113 Scholarship
All graduating seniors are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Completed applications
are to be received by the scholarship committee no later than April 30, 2015.
The Melvin E. Modderman Memorial Scholarship
The Melvin E. Modderman scholarship is available to a graduating senior to be used for tuition, fees, books, and other
expenses. To be eligible, the student applying must have at least a C average. Applications are available in the Guidance
Office and must be scanned and submitted via email to the address provided on the application. Deadline: May 1, 2015.
LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS
awarded to a Hardin County Resident
Nolin RECC Scholarship
This scholarship is for seniors in the Nolin RECC service area whose parents or legal guardians are Nolin RECC members
and whose primary residence is in the Nolin RECC service territory. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and
the deadline for entry is April 1, 2015.
Bob Wade, Sr. Memorial Scholarship sponsored by Nolin RECC
This scholarship is for seniors in the Nolin RECC service area whose parents or legal guardians are Nolin RECC members
and whose primary residence is in the Nolin RECC service territory. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and
the deadline for entry is April 1, 2015.
Lincoln Trail Area Master Gardener Association Scholarship
All graduating seniors who will be attending college in the fall of 2015 are eligible to apply. Applications are available in
the Guidance Office. Completed applications are due April 15, 2015 and are to be mailed to the address listed on the
application.
Hardin County Republican Women’s Club Elizabeth Tori Scholarship
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
 Female
 A registered Republican or, if not yet 18-years-old, will register as a Republican at the age of majority
 Be a senior in high school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and plan to attend a college or university after graduation
from high school
Other requirements are detailed on the information sheet which is included with the application. Completed
applications must be scanned and submitted via email to the address listed on the above-mentioned sheet no later than
May 1, 2015. Applicants are available in the Guidance Office.
Central Kentucky Community Action Council, Inc. Scholarship
Anyone applying for this scholarship must meet low income guidelines. Preference will be given to graduating seniors
going into the field of Social Services, Business, Agriculture, or Education, in that order. Student’s GPA must be equal a B
or better. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: April 15, 2015.
Hardin County Playhouse “galen logsdon” Fine Arts Scholarship
Requirements:
 Must be a resident of Hardin County, Kentucky
 Must be enrolling in a 4-year undergraduate program for the upcoming fall semester
 Must be pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts
 Must be a US Citizen
Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Completed application must be received by May 10, 2015.
Local/State SCHOLARSHIPS
Ft Knox Area Chapter, Inc. Military Officers’ Association of America Scholarship
To be eligible for this scholarship you must be:
 A family member of an active duty Guard or Reserve service member
 A family member of a 20-year retired or deceased active duty, Guard or Reserve service member
 The grandson /granddaughter of a retired (living or deceased) active duty, Guard or Reserve service member
 Be a graduating senior attending high school or home school program in the Ft. Knox area
 Have applied to attend an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school
 May not be a recipient of a full four-year scholarship or have accepted an appointment to a military academy.
 Have at least a 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA or be in the upper half of your graduating class
Submit a completed application to the committee with a postmark on or before April 15, 2015.
*A copy of the front and back of your dependent or Sponsor’s Military ID card must be included with your application.
Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association
Fort Knox Gold Vault Chapter Scholarship
One or more scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors planning to major in a Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Eligibility requirements and application for this scholarship can be found

STATE SCHOLARSHIPS
Kentucky Federation of Republican Women Scholarship
The KFRW seeks to grant one scholarship annually in the amount of $1000 to a college-bound high school senior girl who
has been politically active within the Republican Party during her high school career. The qualified application will
graduate from a Kentucky high school in 2015, is a registered Republican, and plans to enroll at an accredited college or
university in Kentucky. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be mailed to the KFRW Scholarship
Chairman with a postmark no later than April 1, 2015.
2015 Bluegrass Cellular Scholarship Program
Bluegrass Cellular is now accepting applications for the 2015 Bluegrass Cellular Scholarship Program. This May, they will
award 15 one-time scholarships valued at $1500 each to select graduating seniors who attend high school in the 36county home-service Bluegrass Cellular area. Scholarship information and the application is available online at:

The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
Stratton/Tipton Scholarship
The scholarship is given by the Kentucky Association of Career & Technical Education Special Needs Personnel. This
award serves to provide assistance for one Kentucky high school senior pursuing a degree, diploma, or certificate in the
field of Career & Technical education from any post-secondary institution in Kentucky. Applications are available in the
Guidance Office and are due no later than April 30, 2015.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Art Awards
The Ladies Auxiliary is holding the Creative Patriotic Art Awards contest. You must be sponsored by a Ladies Auxiliary or
foreign-based Ladies Auxiliary or Post. Art must be on paper or canvas. Digital art is not accepted. Applications and
information sheets are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline for submission is March 31, 2015.
XIXI Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Scholarship
The Xi Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc Scholarship is open to African American high school seniors who intend
to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at an accredited college or university. Scholarship awards will be in the amount of $500
and is a one-time non-renewable transaction for the 2014-2015 academic year. All recipients will be notified by May 1,
2015. The letter of instruction and application are available in the Guidance Office. Applications must be mailed to the
address on the above letterhead. Students have the option to email the completed application form with all required

Getting the FACTS – Your Personalized College Guide – Provided by KHEAA
A free, personalized Getting the Facts report will help Kentucky students and their families in selecting a college. The
report will provide estimates of how much the family can expect to spend and how much financial aid the student may
receive. Students can get those estimates for up to six colleges across the U.S., not just for Kentucky colleges.
The report is provided by KHEAA. To obtain a free report, students must log into or set up a MyKHEAA account on
www.kheaa.com They should then select their state of residence, enter their anticipated graduation date and click on
the Getting the Facts link. Students and parents must provide estimated income and asset data, and students must
provide their Social Security number to set up a MyKHEAA account.

The College Database has created a no-cost resource dedicated to higher education in Kentucky. The goal of the page is
to help high school students, and their families, research and identify campus, online and hybrid learning opportunities

The Jonathan R. Reynolds Young Writers Workshop at Denison University
