I had very oily skin and felt that I needed these products to keep my skin from breaking out. The truth is, these products were keeping my skin in a constant roller coaster condition. I would use cleansers to remove every bit of oil, then lather on the synthetic moisturizers in an attempt to replenish my stripped skin. In 2006, I learned how to make my own soap. I had read that natural soap cleans your skin without stripping away your body’s natural oils. Natural soap also contains glycerin and other emollients to nourish and balance the skin. I begin using my own soap instead of the pricey store bought products and was so pleased with the results. My skin looked more vibrant and felt so smooth and soft. Over the years, I have found ways to make most all of my own skin care products. Not only are they more healthy for your skin, you can also save money by making your own. They also make great gifts. Simple Beauty contains recipes that I use in creating my own beauty products.
