TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM BRNO
There are two big (Prague, Vienna) and one small (Brno) airports that can be used for travelling to
and from Brno.
The Brno International Airport operates only few flights (e.g. London, Eindhoven, Moscow). The
Vienna International Airport and Vaclav Havel International Airport (Prague) operates many
international flights. Both the Vienna and Prague airports are connected with Brno by direct busses
(1,5 hrs and 2,5 hrs respectively) and also by train.

Transportation from Václav Havel Airport, Prague:
At Václav Havel Airport Prague, the operations is divided between two terminals – Terminal 1 and
Terminal 2. For non-Schengen flights for which controls on travel documents are performed,
Terminal 1 is used, while Terminal 2 is used for Schengen flights. The Schengen area currently
includes all European Union Member States together with Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. EU
countries not in the area are Bulgaria, Ireland, Cyprus, Romania and Great Britain.

1)
Student Agency bus – The easiest
way, the bus stops directly before Vienna Airport and
goes directly to Brno Grand Hotel Station.

From Terminal 1
Exit the building and cross four roads/parkings, approx. 75 m. The stop of Student Agency buses is
just below the bridge. Look for sign of Student Agency Company (see the picture and the map
below).
From Terminal 2
For exiting the building use the ground level exits. Cross the roads and follow the bridge above you
for approx 200 m. Look for sign of Student Agency Company (see the picture and the map below).
2) Shuttle bus to the city centre of Prague
CEDAZ - Regular shuttle buses to the centre of Prague: Everyday scheduled operation, 30-minute
intervals.

3) Public Transport
Bus Lines 119, 100 and 179 go to Metro lines, by Metro you can reach Main Station (line C, train
connections) or Florenc (lines C and B, bus connections).
The bus Airport express goes directly to Main Station (train connections) - 35 min

4) Official taxi
AAA RADIOTAXI and FIX TAXI are services at guaranteed tariff prices, according to the number of
kilometres passed. You can go go either to Florenc (bus connection to Brno) and Main Station (train
connection to Brno).
Contact counters of taxi operators are located at the arriving hall of Terminal 1 and 2. Departure
points are displayed in front of arriving halls.
5) Train + Airport Express
Czech Railways and Václav Havel Airport Prague introduced their new offer for passengers: Train &
Airport. Thanks to this promotion campaign, passengers can now travel for special price to Václav
Havel Airport Prague and back home by train (domestic line) from any connected location in the
Czech Republic. Transport between the Prague Main Railway Station and the airport or vice versa is
arranged by the Airport Express (AE) shuttle bus free of charge. Please do not forget to get your
return ticket stamped upon arrival. Stamps with the date of travel can be obtained at the Information
Desk in arrival halls against a boarding pass and personal ID presentation.
Offer valid under these conditions:




at any railway station in the ČD network, the passenger purchases a return VLAK+ Prague
Airport ticket for 2nd class travel to the station Praha letiště/Airport (BUS) for the price of a
customer one-way return ticket for 2nd class travel (a 25% discount of regular return ticket)
this ticket is valid as a return ticket, i.e. for one outbound journey and one return journey
along the same route, only if it is stamped at a Václav Havel Airport Prague information desk
passengers thus receive a 25% discount off the regular fare
the ticket is valid for 30 days


tickets can be purchased through advance sales 2 months prior to departure
it is not possible to purchase a VLAK+ Prague Airport ticket through the ČD eShop.
Conditions for the return journey from the airport





the OUTBOUND journey must be boarded on the first day of the ticket’s validity
the RETURN journey from the station Praha letiště/Airport (BUS) can be boarded at any time
during the ticket’s term of validity provided there is a date stamp on the back of the ticket;
without this stamp the ticket is invalid for the RETURN journey and the passenger will pay
the fare for which he or she can demonstrate eligibility
the date specified on the stamp is the boarding date for the RETURN journey; the journey
must be completed by midnight (24:00) on the following day, but no later than by midnight
(24:00) of the last day on which the ticket is valid
after 8 p.m. (20:00) the ticket can, upon the passenger’s request, be stamped with the date
of the following day
the stamp on the ticket for the RETURN journey is obtained by the passenger at an
information desk in the arrival terminals of the Prague Airport upon presenting a valid
boarding pass and personal identification
The ticket is valid on all ČD trains including Airport Express bus connections from Prague Main Station
to Václav Havel Airport Prague.

You can choose from several options how to travel from Vienna airport to Brno:

After leaving the new arrival hall, go right, where is the new bus station, Student Agency
stops at No. 2.
2) The City Airport Train connects the airport with the transport hub at Wien Mitte non-stop in only
16 minutes. From Wien Mitte you can take a train to Brno Main Station.
Tickets can be purchased at www.cityairporttrain.com, from ticket machines and from tourist
information at the airport.
3) Intercityexpress (ICE) - The Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB - Austrian Federal
Railways) offer direct connections to Wels, Linz and St. Pölten. These trains also stop at
Wien Meidling and at Vienna Main Station. From both Wien Meidling and Vienna Main
Station you can take a train to Brno Main Station.
Tickets can be purchased at www.oebb.at, from ticket machines, via the ÖBB Ticket App and on the
train.
4) Vienna AirportLines bus - The buses of Vienna AirportLines (a service of ÖBB) take you directly to
Vienna city center or to Vienna's Westbahnhof. From Wien Westbahnhof you can take a train to
Brno Main Station.
Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver and at the customer service office of the AirportLines at
the airport (arrival hall).
Transportation from Brno Airport:
Public transportation bus No. 76 (direction Main Station). Bus stops in front of the departure
hall. Tickets can be purchased in the vending machine in the arrival hall or Newsagent's
(Airport Shop). From the station Main Station trams and buses go to all other locations
(hotels, congress venue).
