TASEV TRAINING CULTURE AND YOUTH ASSOCIATION
TAŞEV Training Culture and Youth Association :
TAŞEV Training Culture and Youth Association was assembled in 2008 in Gaziantep. While being the first in the
field of art, education, youth, it is an association which will be a candidate in art, culture and intercultural
dialogue.We have an old association building in city centre. Our centre is a cultural heritage because it is nearly
80 years old.Our target groups are disadvantaged young people living in the suburb areas of Gaziantep. We
want to support young people's personal capabilities and development .Cultural exchange is important for
development of young people.Therefore, we want to share cultural richnesses with European young people
and our group . We have different cultural and art materials and areas around our city such as ; museums,
hans, castles, hamams,cultural art centers and hand made metarials centers. Also, we have gramophone
records collections in our center. We have done a lot of activities with disadvantaged social groups in these
areas. We want to include european young generation into these activities. We think that this kind of activities
will contribute to their personal and social development. Intercultural learning is one of the priorities in youth
in action programme.
Location: Gaziantep/TURKEY
Gaziantep is a city in the southeastern Anatolia and it is the sixth largest city in Turkey. Its population,
economical situation, tourism potential, and Greater Municipality make the city metropolitan. It is a
neighboring city with Syria. Population is approximately 1.5 million and most of them are internal immigrant
who has started to migrate during the last 50 years because of commercial and industrial opportunities. The
city has a wide transportation network, including an international airport, railway station and links to major
motorways. Gaziantep boasts 3 universities and a lot of state hospitals and private hospitals which are
specialized in their area and engage in locally and internationally.
There is a mosaic museum in the city which is the largest mosaic museum in the world. Also, there are 8 more
museums in the city.
The local state provides theatral and cultural events almost everyday in the culture centres. There are 6 big
movie centres and also lots of cafes and clubs in the city.

Project Description :
The project named “IMPROVE YOURSELF WİTH EVS '' is basically an art and culture project. Volunteers will
participate activities of organizations, work with kids, observe cultural details, take photos and design the
materials about the Gaziantep. We aim that to make big database in different language about different
countries in long term.
We will collect all documents which we have at the end of volunteering in one book. We believe that the book
will be enhance day by day. We will share all documents with our partners by means of internet. Therefore, it is
hoped to be link between countries and contribute to cultural diversity and European awareness. Taşev
Training, Culture and Youth Association (TASEV) is hosting organization in this project. The duration of the
project is 5 months. There will be 2 volunteers from different country. In the project, it is aimed to contribute
to the interaction of cultures and collapsing the wall of prejudices as well. To be able to achieve this goal, there
will be such activities as volunteers' taking photographs of some certain historical and cultural sites of project
environment, resarch about Gaziantep and preparing dijital book according to their impression and create blog
page to share their weekly activities, participate some hand made material and tradititonal dance course . By
using non-formal education methodologies such as brain stormings, trips, city huntings we will try to show
them how to improve themselves and by doing so to produce effective and unforgettable outcomes in the end
of the project.
Activity Dates:
1st Januaryr 2015 - 01 June 2015
Accomondation:
Volunteers will stay in our association flat.
The flat has one big and done small room. Volunteers can seperate rooms or they can share same small room.
And other room can be saloon.
Also There is a kitchen a bathroom, a balcony, two volunteer rooms, hot water and wifi. Also,It is in the centre
and very close to many hospitals, shops, pharmacy and park.
FUNDING
100% for accommodation will be covered and 90% of travel cost (Apex tickets) will be reimbursed after
receiving original receipts.
Pocket Money: 80 EUR/Month
Food: İt will be paid 100 EURO/Month for each volunteer by the project.
Health: Health costs will be paid by their insruance
ACTİVİTİES:
Expecting from the volunteers about service ;






to take photo historical and culturel places around the city.
to research information and write article about history, culture, socio-economic statu of the city
to edit and dizayn all metarials (photo and articles) and prepare dijital book.
to work with down sydnrome kids or kindergarden kids
to learn foreign language to our target group.
to participate organisation related with the project.
