ANNUAL NORWEGIAN CHRISTMAS BAZAAR The Norwegian Seamen’s Church of Houston, 4309 Young Street, Pasadena TX 77504 The Norwegian Seaman’s Church of Houston There has been a Norwegian Lutheran Church in the Houston area since 1908. The first Church building was established in Galveston in 1928. The present building is located in Pasadena and was inaugurated in 1983. The Norwegian Church has faithfully served the spiritual and social needs of persons aboard Norwegian and other Scandinavian ships calling at local ports, and also the growing number of Norwegians in the Houston area. The Norwegian Seaman’s Church of Houston is a Texas non-profit corporation owned by The Norwegian Seamen’s Mission in Bergen, Norway. Since 1990 it has also officially served as the Norwegian Church abroad. The Norwegian Seaman’s Church of Houston is open every day except Mondays. At the Church you will find a small store where we sell Nordic food, you can buy many local newspapers from all over Norway, and we always serve the famous Norwegian waffles. At the church we have a Church Choir and a Children Choir, we have the Ladies Club and other functions. Every Sunday we have a Norwegian service at 11 AM. The church personnel also visit about 360 Scandinavian vessels every year. The Christmas Bazaar is one of the biggest events throughout the year.
