Wrap up your holiday shopping at Place St. Charles Annual
Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair on Thursday, December 5 and Friday,
December 6 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the first floor around
the fountain. Handmade items by local artisans fill the many
booths at this year’s event. With many new vendors, you won’t
be disappointed with the wide array of distinctive crafts... and
lots of jewelry! Everything from New Orleans-themed paintings
and photos, hats of all kinds, clay and ceramic items, ornaments
and more!
Our Favorite Local Artists and Their Crafts Include:
SHAUN ALEMAN Often humorous and sometimes sarcastic,
the work of native Shaun Aleman is full of New Orleans’
unique heritage and culture. Original paintings in watercolor
and acrylic with hand made frames from reclaimed wood from
the New Orleans houses that he works on. Also notecards and
prints.
Aunt April’s chocolates For one day only! Aunt April’s
delicious homemade chocolate creations will be available on
Thursday only.
BELLA VIXEN DESIGNS features lightweight, clip on and
pierced earrings designed and hand crafted with tassel beads
(cord/thread wrapped beads, most recycled) featuring vintage
and new findings, beads, glass cabochons and crystals.
JOCELYN BURRELL is famous for wonderful handcrafted
bronze and sterling hammered jewelry plus holiday ornaments
that are haute couture for the Christmas tree!
Cheryl Cornerstone’s Artist Cheryl Hill offers one of a
kind hand made jewelry - truly statement pieces.
fleur de light Through fleur de light’s unique fragrant
candles you can wander the Farmers Market and sample the
freshest flowers and fruits. Absorb the sidewalk scene over
fresh beignets and cafe au lait. Or pass a secret Garden District
courtyard perfumed with sweet jasmine and cotton blossom.

NICOLE GILLIES creator of Serendipitous Designs For You,
takes photos and crafts them into coasters and wall hangings.
She uses her own special technique to ensure a unique product,
and welcomes custom orders of pets, children and homes. Her
trademark is turning photos into colorful modern art.
johanson designs Francis Johanson handcrafts intricately
beaded jewelry that is delicate and beautiful.
KnitZy by Ze daLuz includes hats, beanies, tams, caps,
slouchies, and more - all one of a kind, colorful, and unique.
lakeview sheperd center is a non-profit senior center.
members of the center make all the handmade items for sale
including embroidered pillow cases, bibs, hats, napkins, tea
towels and aprons.
joshua lee Focusing his work on “the Louisiana You
Remember” Joshua Lee takes 100 photos everyday in and
around New Orleans. His website statement sums up his work
“Whether you live here, left here, loved here, can’t stay away from
here or are too sensible to live in a swamp, we have captured the
New Orleans you remember.”
Maison de Cheveux offering the latest in hair and body

gerry claude paints original local scenes of makin’
groceries, the flying horses, bars and restaurants... all memories
of growing up in New Orleans.
celeste mccann Beautiful artwork on marvelous weathered
wooden planks, canvas and slate.
CLAY CREATIONS interprets local architecture in clay,
primarily of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. Many popular
facades are already available of places that “just ain’t dere no
mo!” Their favorite creations are custom pieces such as your
home or business from your favorite photo.
Pearl Girls will be featuring holiday earrings, bracelets and
necklaces as well as hand strung jewelry with natural stones,
pearls and silver. In addition, all-natural soy candles in Christmas
and traditional scents including the ever popular crème brûlée
will be available at the booth.
NANCY EAVES creates unusual jewelry, one piece at a time,
using antique and found objects combined with handmade new
pieces. The spot for vintage assemblages that tell stories and
have the element of surprise.
STACEY PELAS offers original hand-painted art on recycled/
reclaimed slate... wall slates, slate coasters, slate ornaments and
magnets. Slates are weather sealed for indoor or outdoor use.

Jeffrey Roché was born and raised in New Orleans and
received his degree in studio art from Tulane University. As a
painter, sculptor, illustrator, filmmaker, photographer and print
maker, his work is varied, but his themes are consistently and
naturally N’Awlins.
