About the Conference
CMI 2016 will be the first biennial flagship event of
IEEE Joint CSS-IMS Chapter, Kolkata Section, India.
This event will provide a global forum for
academicians, researchers, industrial practitioners,
scientists and engineers to discuss about their
research endeavors, studies, findings, new ideas and
concepts, contributions and developments related
to the areas of control theories and applications,
measurement theories and applications and
instrumentation theories and applications. CMI 2016
will comprise keynote and plenary sessions by
eminent academicians, regular and poster sessions
of contributed papers, special sessions and tutorial
sessions. All papers will undergo blind peer review
process and the criteria for acceptance will be based
on quality, originality, technical content and
relevance.
Paper Submission Guidelines
Authors will have to submit their papers only through
Easy Chair electronically, in PDF format only,
complying with the prescribed guidelines.
Submission of papers through email is not allowed.
By submitting papers in CMI2016, the authors agree
that the same manuscript has not been submitted or
under consideration in any other conference
/journal. The deadline for paper submission is June
15, 2015, no later than 23:59:00 (GMT). The authors
are invited to submit their papers not exceeding 5
pages in IEEE format. If the limit of 5 pages is
exceeded, an extra charge of INR 3,000 per page (for
Indian authors) or USD 175 per page (for Foreign
authors) has to be paid. Under any circumstances,
papers exceeding the limit of 7 pages cannot be
accepted. Emails of all the authors involved have to
be furnished to Easy Chair while submitting each
paper. The TPC will communicate with the
corresponding author only. Multiple submissions of
the same manuscript are not permitted.
The authors must use Microsoft Word or LaTeX
templates for submitting their papers, available at
IEEE Conference Publishing Website. The MS-Word
A4 Template is also available at the conference
website.
IEEE Joint CSS-IMS Kolkata Chapter
The joint IEEE Control Systems Society and
Instrumentation & Measurement Society Chapter,
IEEE Kolkata Section, was formed in 2014. In
engineering domain and in industrial applications,
Control and Instrumentation are very much
interrelated and interweaved activities which
motivated us to form this joint chapter. Several of
these group members are IEEE members and some
of them regularly publish in IEEE Transactions in the
areas of Control and Instrumentation and
Measurement. It had been a long standing wish of
these members to form a joint IEEE CSS-IMS chapter
and come together under the joint umbrella of IEEE
CSS and IEEE IMS. Eventually, this chapter provides
and will continue to provide a platform for regular,
close knit interactions among academicians,
researchers, and practicing engineers.

All accepted papers presented at the conference will
be submitted for publication in IEEE Xplore and will
be published in the conference proceedings with an
IEEE catalog number and ISBN number. Authors are
invited to submit their papers not exceeding 5 pages
in IEEE format. At least one author of each accepted
