Emily Ma ⾺馬菁勵 Emily Ma is a dancer, choreographer, instructor and DJ. She is one of the first who brought Brazilian Zouk dance to Asia and helped to popularise it all around the continent. Widely acclaimed as one of the most talented dancers in Asia. Her a amazing musicality and flawless technique are one of the reasons she has been invited to worlds biggest dance festivals and congresses. As a extremely energetic and absolutely dedicated to her passion, Emily is visiting many countries each year performing and teaching a new generation of dancers. Biography Emily start dancing thanks to her mother who also has been a dancer. When she was 13 years old she decided to began studies Contemporary dance in Hong Kong, while studying piano and drums in the same time. When she was 18 she undergo a surgery which sadly made dancing impossible for her for next two years." " In 2008 Emily performed for a very first time at Hong Kong Salsa Festival, one of the 10 biggest dance festivals in the world. The same year she began dancing Zouk and later, in 2009 she decided to travel to Australia to study it at professional dance school in Sidney. " In 2010 she is came back to Hong Kong and began to teach and perform Zouk all around Asia. In 2011 she went to Brazil hoping to improve her skills even more, and after she came back she coorganised International Zouk Flashmob in Hong Kong. Since that time she is travelling more and more, teaching, performing and sharing her philosophy of dance and life. " 2012 was the year when Emily started to dance Kizomba which quickly became one of her favourite dances." " Some call her “Queen of Zouk in Asia” or “Queen of Bachata” considering her style as very influential, but she doesn’t take that seriously, totally overwhelmed by her work and full calendar.
