Contract Staff Position: Summer Program Staff 2015 Reference Number: 2015-03 Momenta experience discover grow provides experiences that discover strengths and foster growth. Momenta is looking for 6 contract staff who are interested and experienced in the development and delivery of summer camp programs, experiential programs, hard skill instruction, and have experience with group and behaviour management and building positive relationships with youth. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes; • Be 18 years of age or older by July 1, 2015 • Be a high school graduate by July 1, 2015 • Wilderness First-Aid certification minimum 16 hr; 40 hr considered an asset (please note, this certification can be done through Momenta prior to the beginning of the season) • Experience working with children 6 - 17 years of age in an overnight or residential setting • Experience in outdoor/adventure or summer camp program development and delivery • Experience and certification in one or more of the following: canoeing, kayaking, biking, arts programming, team building, sports, nature programming, Bronze Cross or NLS • Experience with creative, program development in a camp or educational setting • Experience in experiential or adventure therapy • Ability and willingness to perform general cleaning duties, and assist in facility upkeep • Bachelor degree in Recreation Management, Education or related field considered an asset The ideal candidate will be hard working, independent and have a positive attitude. Staff must be comfortable with community living, and being away from home for extended periods. Program staff are expected to sleep overnight in cabins with campers and other staff. All July dates take place at Moose Lake Camp near Sprague Manitoba. Transportation to and from the facility will be the responsibility of the candidate; however staff can pay into a car pool fund of $10/trip if they require Momenta to provide transportation. Finally, the ideal candidate will be willing to adopt Momenta’s principles, philosophies, and group management strategies while working with clients. Candidates will be available • July 6& 7 Staff Training in Winnipeg (2 days of pay at 50% of wage) • July 11 & 12 Staff Training at camp (2 days of pay at 50% of wage) • July 13 - July 17 (5 days of pay) • July 19 @ 5pm - July 23 (4 days of pay) • August 5-7 (3 days of pay) • July 26 @ 5pm - July 31 (5 days of pay) • August 10 - 14 (5 days of pay) • August 16@ 5pm - August 21 (this contract pays an honourarium of $250/week) Contract staff will receive $80-$120/day based on experience.
