Temporary Lane Obstructions on Taylor Avenue
From: Steve Sobo, Director of Capital Projects
Starting on Monday, April 27th, Sachs Electric will begin street work on the School of Medical Campus that will
impede traffic flow at the Taylor Avenue / McKinley Avenue intersection. Sachs will be installing a new TFC
underground communications raceway between the manhole # 57, at the above intersection, and the new
4515 McKinley building, a.k.a. Scott McKinley Research Building, on McKinley.
This work will consist of street trenching, conduit installation and concrete work in the trench. The trench is
planned to extend west on McKinley from manhole # 57 approximately 60’ then turn north across McKinley,
continuing to the north curb on McKinley. This work is expected to be completed by 6pm on Friday, May 8th. All street work will be done during the
evening shift, beginning daily at 6:30pm and ending at 3am each day. There are no anticipated street closures
involved but intermittent lane obstructions and traffic shifts will occur. The Sachs crew will provide traffic and
safety control to include flagmen, cones, plating (where appropriate), and warning signs during all work times.
Construction at Taylor Avenue Building –
Temporary Parking Lot Closure
From: Nick Dochwat, Senior Engineering Project Manager Starting on Monday, April 27th, we will be moving around to the west side of the Taylor Avenue Building (TAB)
for continual masonry restoration. The parking spaces along the west side of the building and the spaces along
the fence next to the MetroLink will be closed for approximately 2 weeks for the work to proceed. Parking for
people who use this space will be available on the east side of the building until the contractors are finished
with the west side. All 2 hour spaces will be out of service on the west side of the building. See attached for a
map.
If you have any questions, please call Nick Dochwat at 747-2906 or the Facilities Integrated Service Center at
362-3100.
