2015 UCSD RAZA RESOURCE CENTRO TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The University of California, San Diego, RAZA Resource Centro Transfer Scholarship Fund was established to
recognize the success of transfer students from community colleges to UC San Diego. UC San Diego will be
awarding four $500 scholarships. The scholarship is designed to support transfer students who have
demonstrated to have empowered the Latina/o community and encourage them to invest in their leadership
development. The competition is open to all UC San Diego undergraduates that have entered as transfers.
Candidates for the scholarship will be asked to write an essay covering the different challenges in the Latina/o
community college pipeline, what programs/events they have been involved in, and what plans they have to give
to the Latina/o community.
Deadline: Friday, May 8, 2015
Eligibility
1. Applicants must be an enrolled full time undergraduate at UCSD
2. Applicants must have entered UCSD as a transfer student
3. Applicants must be in good academic standing, at least a cumulative 2.0 Grade Point Average
Application Procedure

1. A completed student application form
2. A current resume
3. A nomination form completed by a UCSD faculty, staff member, or supervisor. Nominator must email
nomination form to [email protected] by the deadline to be considered.

4. A maximum of 500 words typed essay response to the following prompt:
What do you see as some of the biggest challenges Latina/o transfer students have in increasing college
completion rates? What have you contributed or what do you plan to contribute to help Latina/o students
transfer to a university? How can you use your experiences of successfully transferring to UC San Diego to
exercise effective leadership in the Latina/o community?
