RULES AND REGULATIONS of the
BENCH SHOW COMPETITION
1. Anyone can enter. There are no fees. Entries will be accepted
on Friday, November 30, from 12 noon to 6:00 pm. No late
entries will be accepted.
2. One entry per person, per class. Each entry must be the
work of the person whose name is on the entry tag.
3. Entries must be original and not have been entered in
previous exhibitions.
4. Exhibit tags will be available at the Plamondon Community
Centre upon registration.
5. Every precaution will be taken to protect all exhibits. The
Plamondon Agricultural Society will not be held responsible
for any loss or damage to any exhibit.
6. Judging Method: Sections A and B will be awarded prize
money and ribbons to fifth place. Sections C, D, E and F will
be awarded prize money and ribbons to third place, with the
exception of youth classes.
7. All sections & age categories will be awarded Best of Show
and Reserve Best of Show. These will be selected by the
judges as outstanding entries in their respective sections
and categories.
8. Prizes and ribbons will be presented on Saturday, December
1st at 3:00 p.m.
9. All exhibits will remain on display until the Prize
Presentation is finished.

SECTION A
Gingerbread Showcase
Get Christmas off on the right foot by creating a GINGERBREAD STRUCTURE:
a house, a school, a village or whatever you wish made from your favorite
gingerbread dough or kit.
Judging Standards: the entire creation will be judged
Appearance:
• suitable for the occasion
• follow principles of good design and creativity
• pleasing colours and decorations of assorted candies, gumdrops, candy canes, jelly
beans, smarties, liquorice, pretzels, graham crackers, fig filled cookies, shreddies etc.
• add features to enhance the creation ie trees, fences, figures etc.
• neat and skilful workmanship
One entry per category.

• fillings: uniform & appropriate to type
• creative display for the festive season, effectively presented
Flavor:
• no decided taste of shortening; flavouring delicate
• frosting, filling and trims well blended with flavour of item

• appealing design, shape, colour, materials, textures and applied decoration and in
unity with function
• type and amount of design are in relationship to the size of the article, type of
material

Photo Session with Santa
The Society is providing a professional photographer and a festive
backdrop for a photo with Santa.
The photo session will be from
12:00 pm to 3:00 pm,
Saturday, December 1st.
Each photo sitting with Santa will cost $10.00
and includes 2 photos and a folder.
Each child will receive a treat from Santa.
Christmas Market
Take advantage of the Christmas Market for last minute stocking stuffers
or a gift for that someone special.
A variety of handicrafts, hobby crafts, and needlework will be available,
as well as commercial-type products.
