and laughter.
The water restrictions that the Board voted on at the last meeting are:
Home addresses that end with an even house number can water on even numbered days.
Home addresses that end with an odd number can water on add numbered days.
Please limit your water usage. Make sure we make it through the summer with enough water?

The following are updates from the June 15 Board Meeting regarding year-to-date
expenses to budget, business office updates, projects in process, and capital asset
expenditure proposals for 2015 consideration.
Expenses to budget, January 1 through May 31 (five months)
1. $67,636 (29.8%) expended to budget of $227,124 for 2015.
2. January through May = 41.7% of our budget year.
3. Pace of spending (29.8%) is below five month total through May (41.7%).
Weed Treatment Costs
Weed treatment, however, is expected to be expensive this year due to major full
lake treatment which may need repeating later in 2015 based on excessive weed
growth throughout the lake. We haven’t been billed yet for the weed treatment
completed in June.
Discretionary Funds Available in 2015 over Budget of $227,124
1. FLMC has approximately $348,070 in current available funds. With $227,124
planned for 2015 operating expenses, this leaves just $120,946 available for major
expense items not covered in the annual operating plan.
2. Recommended project for resurfacing Alpine Ave. had bids in 2014 from
$75,000 to $85,000. This project has been on hold to determine specific scope of
work and to obtain comparable bids from interested contractors.
Issues such as removing three speed bumps and replacing them after road repair
and resurfacing were not specified nor was the thickness of asphalt to be applied
(bids ranged from 1.5 inches to 2.0 inches).
3. Discretionary funds (or reserve funds for major asset repair and replacement)
at $120,946 is well below what may be needed for road repairs (6+ miles of roads
within Fawn Lake). Our roads are 45-50 years old and have had many patch
repairs with more serious problems becoming apparent with weather and traffic
wear. Our Association is also responsible for our water system, pumping stations
and equipment, water towers, underground water pipes, and buildings (office,
maintenance, and water systems).
4. Reviewed road repair costs from 1998 - 2014, which totaled $122,478. Repairs
in past three years from 2012 - 2014 have totaled $31,733, indicating increasing
repair needs for road upkeep.
Con’t.
Draft of “2014 Financial Statement” reviewed at Richard Thornbrue’s CPA office for
Board Review and final sign off in July. Capital asset list for Fawn Lake equipment,
buildings, roads, water systems, and machinery is being audited for required tax
reporting in 2015.
Business Office Computer equipment upgrading was completed.
Computer upgrades included; virus removal (over 30 were removed), registration
errors corrected, anti-virus software installed, a new laptop was set up with file
sharing capability with the main office computer and online access, back up data
management software, and additional equipment and programs to make processing
of financial data records maintenance easier and more accurate.
Projects in process:
Alpine Ave. Road resurfacing
Culvert repairs on Alpine.
The caretakers could use the help of those who are able to cut the tall grass in the ditch in front
of your own property. A Big thank you goes out to those who are already doing it.
Thanks again,
Ken Clark
Everyone have a fun and safe Fourth of July!
