Highlights for 2013 Fibre Artist Network
The collective was established to
promote art and design with a focus
on textile and fibre, while fostering
the creation and sale of quality works
of original art by its members. They
operate as a non-profit organisation,
so that all proceeds go directly to the
artists. The collective does not have
paid staff, which means that all local
members work as volunteers.

T’Arts (which stands for Textile and
Arts) is a collective of around 35
artists and craftspeople. From small
beginnings, the collective now attracts
a solid clientele to their gallery in
Gays Arcade. Members are excitedly
preparing to celebrate their 10th
birthday in 2013.
Maude Bath, Boobs, Baubles & Bazookas
Including both established and
emerging artists, the collective aims
to have experienced artists foster the
development of those who are starting
out. Partnerships and collaborations
occur regularly between members.
With such a large number of artists
involved, the shop proudly displays a
wide range of media and styles of work.
Originally the focus was on textiles
and wearable items, but this is now
complemented by a good selection
of fine art such as painting, prints,
sculpture, ceramics, glass and
jewellery.

An exhibition of pastels by members
In celebration of the 10 year milestone,
artists in this exhibition are working
to the theme of ‘10’. This could
include 10 elements, 10 processes,
be a collection of 10 pieces, have a
combination of 10 colours; and this
may not always be obvious. Part of
the intrigue will be working out the 10
connection in each piece or body of
work.
