The month started off with a
business-skill-development
workshop
for
27
Young
entrepreneurs on “start your
business” at Kibera AIC Olympic.
Fourteen young entrepreneurs
qualified as beneficiaries of loans
from AUSAID and Comic Relief
grants to start their own
businesses.
KYBT hosted the Accenture team
in a consultancy visit with the
Organization.
These are some of the Young Entrepreneurs who started their businesses
in the month of July.

KYBT for two years and a gracious

Grace Atieno Oduor at her new “Ladies’ Choice Fashions and Beauty Palour” started
in June. Her business targets women. She sells cloths and cosmetics.

Rispa Otieno Ojow owns a tailoring shop called “Ladies
choice tailoring shop”. She started her business in April and
makes African wears and women cloths on order for sale.
Carolyne Atieno Ochieng now owns an Embroidery shop at
Makina Market, Kibera. She makes table cloths and women
clothing as well.
Francis Taabu Oluoch is a shoemaker. He is one of the beneficiaries of the start your business loan this month. With the
loan he acquired, he started “Luya Rubber, Leather and Plastics” stall in Makina Market, Kibera where he makes shoes
for sale and repairs torn ones.

“Milliona Arts” is Millicent Achieng’s business started in April targeting locals and tourists alike. She sells curios at
Olympic area. Her curios are assortment of attractive cultural handmade ornaments. They comprise of necklaces,
earrings and bracelets.
Samson Ochieng of Lomamo Garage buffing a vehicles roof. The loan helped him
acquire a buffing machine for smoothening car surfaces before a paint-job. He
also bought a paint spraying gun and a compressor spraying machine.

visit

This month KYBT saw the departure of the program manager and the introduction of the new program manager

getting. Her mentoring progress report revealed
that her business that started in May is

in Project management has previously worked
with Sudan Evangelical Mission as a liaison
officer, Centre for poverty reduction of widows
and orphans as a program manager and as a
consultant with Humble Heights International
through which she has developed experience
and passion to mentor young entrepreneurs.
She pointed out that; Molly’s salon is at a
strategic location where the high and middle
class can be accessed, she has already
employed 2 workers; being part of sustenance
strategy because she is expectant and will need
the business to thrive through her maternity
