She researches at the Bauhaus-University Weimar the phenomena of Design Thinking within organizations. As a DT practitioner, former entrepreneur and community shaper she advises NGOs, governments and companies. Simone Veldema is Senior Associate DesignThinkers and owner of GreenbizStartup Simone is a strategic designer who works at the front-line of innovation and sustainability, with focus on economic growth, redesign, cocreation and business model innovation. She has co-developed a new ‘Design for the Sustainable Future’ method to enhance business models. She is also involved as initiator or advisor in various start-ups. You will learn how to create revenue-boosting new products and services using design thinking and how to improve the customer/user experience to create more loyal, profitable customers. Participants will work closely together with the trainers in discussing the following questions: • How can you support your clients with their job to be done? • How to quickly leverage new technologies and services into a ‘lean’, strong and more profitable business? • What is the value of design and how can you use it to your personal and organizational advantage? • How can you create stakeholder buy-in? What will you learn? Participants will get the opportunity to learn Design Thinking, practice the process and to work with others on how they are bringing it back to their work places. There will be a specific focus on facilitating collaborations in complex problems, working on emergent processes, designing solutions with stakeholders and developing skills in empathy and human-centred design. Participants will work closely together with the trainers in discussing the following questions: • How can you successfully apply Design Thinking in a complex problem solving approach • How to design solutions with a deepening sense of empathy and a human centred approach • How to implement Design Thinking in the questions we ask and explore • How to create valuable solutions with an impact • How to design in a reflecting process for constant changes such as policy. • How to test assumptions in an iterative process Who should attend? She worked on a broad spectrum of strategic assignments, expertise in creating digital strategies for large organisations, including service eco-systems, digital product innovations, data storytelling and social innovation. Dr. Emma Jefferies (DesignThinkers Group UK) Emma is a Design Researcher and helps design team and companies reflect and improve their practices as the Design Doctor. With a background in Interaction Design, her PhD in Design, writing in Design and work with global design companies Emma explores how design practices develop. Her work is based on a passion for supporting the development of people in the creative sector and their ideas. Amir Hoshia (Whiteboard IL) Amir is managing partner of Whiteboard a business design firm working with companies and organizations to re-think and re-innovate their value proposition. Cracking complex business challenges built upon years of multidisciplinary senior management, Amir develops innovative services and products and focusing on Innovaton within the Israeli StartUp Context. Andrea Augusten (design:transfer GER) Andrea Augsten is Design Researcher and Expert for Future of Design and Transdisciplinarity. She is co-founder of design:transfer, a research group dealing with the intersection between academical design research and business. She teaches Design Theory at different universities in Germany and conducts her PhD within the Innovation Center of VW. Also she is a Member of TT30 of Club of Rome. Daniela Peukert (design:transfer GER) Daniela Peukert is product designer, desig researcher and author. She is co-founder of design:transfer, a research group which observse, analyzes and reframes the changing role of design research as a transdiciplinary science. Her work focuses on health, demographic change and mobility. She conducts her PhD at the Leuphana University on the role of design in transdisciplinary research. Henriette Waal (Dutch Design Award nominee) Henriëtte is an artist/designer in Amsterdam. She completed her education at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the department 'Man and Public Space.' She explores processes of change, customs, social patterns and local relations within the context of the public domain.
