Silent Auction Rules
• To make a bid for a Silent Auction item, simply mark your bid amount on the Bid Card and
turn it into a Silent Auction volunteer at one of the four bidding stations. The opening bid
on each item must be at least the minimum price listed and bid increments will follow
those posted on the screen at each Bidding Station.
• Each item has a “Buy It Now” price that can be purchased at any time. Once an item has
been sold at the “Buy It Now” price, it is no longer eligible for bidding.
• Once the auction is declared closed, the last bid submitted for the designated increment
shall constitute the winning bid and will be so marked. The Auction Committee will
mediate any disputes among bidders and that determination shall be final.
• Invoices will be prepared shortly after the closing of the Silent Auction. This process may
take up to one hour. Please be patient so that we can properly group and process all
items. Silent Auction Check Out will be available at 8:15pm.
• The list of winners will be posted in the Silent Auction area and invoices will be available
at the “Silent Auction Checkout Table.” The cashier will ask for your ID and item number.
Once your payment has been processed, please take your paid invoice to a Silent Auction
Coordinator, who will retrieve your item.
• Auction item purchases are final. No returns or exchanges will be issued, nor is it possible
for expiration dates to be extended. All provisions listed in the certificates are subject to
availability.
• Auction item purchases are tax-deductible only if the winning bid exceeds the fair market
value of the item (listed on the invoice). The tax-deductible amount is the winning bid
minus the fair market value.
• Auction item transactions are considered cash donations to Goodwill of Central Arizona
and not purchases for tangible or intangible items.
• Goodwill of Central Arizona provides no guarantees, warranties or servicing of auction
items and is not liable for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from
the use of the item or service sold.
• Items must be picked up at the event and taken away by purchaser on the spot. Any items
left behind must be picked up by the purchaser at the location in where item is held.
Delivery arrangements may be made by purchaser by providing a valid credit card silent
auction volunteer at check-out. Goodwill of Central Arizona cannot incur any shipping
and delivery fees on behalf of purchaser.
• We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and checks for
payment.

HOW TO MAKE A BID
1. You were given a bidder number at the registration desk. You must use this
number to bid on Silent Auction items.
2. Silent Auction items are divided into four sections. All items are listed
within those sections on the following pages and on display tables.

Silent Auction Rules
• To make a bid for a Silent Auction item, simply mark your bid amount on the Bid Card and
turn it into a Silent Auction volunteer at one of the four bidding stations. The opening bid
on each item must be at least the minimum price listed and bid increments will follow
those posted on the screen at each Bidding Station.
• Each item has a “Buy It Now” price that can be purchased at any time. Once an item has
been sold at the “Buy It Now” price, it is no longer eligible for bidding.
• Once the auction is declared closed, the last bid submitted for the designated increment
shall constitute the winning bid and will be so marked. The Auction Committee will
mediate any disputes among bidders and that determination shall be final.
• Invoices will be prepared shortly after the closing of the Silent Auction. This process may
take up to one hour. Please be patient so that we can properly group and process all
items. Silent Auction Check Out will be available at 8:15pm.
• The list of winners will be posted in the Silent Auction area and invoices will be available
at the “Silent Auction Checkout Table.” The cashier will ask for your ID and item number.
Once your payment has been processed, please take your paid invoice to a Silent Auction
Coordinator, who will retrieve your item.
• Auction item purchases are final. No returns or exchanges will be issued, nor is it possible
for expiration dates to be extended. All provisions listed in the certificates are subject to
availability.
• Auction item purchases are tax-deductible only if the winning bid exceeds the fair market
value of the item (listed on the invoice). The tax-deductible amount is the winning bid
minus the fair market value.
• Auction item transactions are considered cash donations to Goodwill of Central Arizona
and not purchases for tangible or intangible items.
• Goodwill of Central Arizona provides no guarantees, warranties or servicing of auction
items and is not liable for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from
the use of the item or service sold.
• Items must be picked up at the event and taken away by purchaser on the spot. Any items
left behind must be picked up by the purchaser at the location in where item is held.
Delivery arrangements may be made by purchaser by providing a valid credit card silent
auction volunteer at check-out. Goodwill of Central Arizona cannot incur any shipping
and delivery fees on behalf of purchaser.
• We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and checks for
payment.
