Case 12-72022 Doc 1796-1 Filed 03/20/15 Entered 03/20/15 10:41:47 antique sword pistol jewelry and photographs Page 1 of 3 Lot# Title Desc MAY 7 AUCTION (SWORD, GUN, JEWELRY, & PHOTOS) Description Truly museum quality: Exquisitely Jeweled and Engraved Presentation Officer’s Sword – One of the most impressively adorned and well-preserved we have had the opportunity to view outside of a museum. Super condition, absolutely dead real, Federal US presentation sword. Gilded blade is marked “W. CLAUBERG, SOLINGEN” surrounding a knight in armor and "IRON PROOF" on the other side. Etched panels on blade include “US”, eagle with ribbon with “E PLURIBUS UNUM” holding in talons a wreath, wearing a shield with thirteen stars, panoply of arms. Embellished with very bold blade etching, the blade retains 80% original gilt though light in areas. Very few small areas of black staining are scattered over surface of blade especially near tip. Impressive jeweled, pierced hilt and wire wrapped grip are in wonderful shape. Scabbard has stamped brass adornments - wide raised decoration mounts that are clean, intact and retain gilding in at least 90%. Scabbard body and hilt are very, very good and both retain most of the original gilding - still 80 - 90% present with wonderful and correct patina. Hilt & mounts are florally decorated with twelve ruby and garnet colored red stones and amethyst colored purple stones, applied brass mounts, silver wire grip. The engraved presentation on the nickel scabbard with engraved brass pierced mounts: "Presented to CAPT. ZACK HEED by the Non Commissioned Officers and Privates Co. G. 91st Reg. O. V. I.". The two brass ring mounts and the woven sword/saber knot gold bullion metal tassel all in fantastic shape - all correct and perfect patina for the age. This sword and scabbard are covered with incredibly pleasing flourishes and adornments and engravings but it is the condition of the piece that really set this apart from most other presentation work we see. 1 Important Civil War Jeweled Commemorative Sword and Scabbard 2 3 Middle Eastern Flintlock Pistol 14kt Jewelry 4 5 Rings 14kt 5 3 Rings and 1 Chain All 10kt 6 10kt Rings 7 Sterling Jewelry Attractive flintlock of Arabic origins, modified, non working, highly decorated No diamonds in this group. 9.1 DWT Al usable and wearable. Weighed with the semi-precious stones and small diamond chips, the total 9.3 dwt. Some stones missing. A few are wearable - as pictured. All wearable. One ring is Black Hills Gold. See photos. 12.0 dwt Small diamond chips and some semi-precious stones in these 10 kt rings. Diamonds were tested - positive. With stones, the total is 14.7 dwt, including all stones. Note that not all rings are wearable - some for scrap. Some semi precious stones. 7.4 dwt. All wearable. 8 2 Rings Unusual pair: The small diamonds test positive, but there is no marking on the rings for the gold. I weighed them at 6.5 dwt, however. 9 2 Rings 10 11 Misc. Jewelry Lot 18kt Gold Ring 10kt Blue Sapphire Earrings and Necklace 12 13 Misc. Jewelry Lot 14 1959 Mint Set Another unusual pair: The small side stones on the ladies ring test positive for diamonds, the larger clear stones on the top of the setting do not. There is no marking on this mount for gold. The man's ring had the 2 small side stones removed, indicating they may have been diamonds. The center stone looks like a Tiger's Eye to me. There is no marking on this mount for gold either. Again, unusual pair - I can find no markings on the metal at all. No markings on these. Some could be gold plated or 10 kt. None are marked. Smaller size - a 5 or smaller. 2.6 dwt of 18 carat gold. Some of the photos look a little purple, but this is very blue looking - the flash must have affected the photo. Very delicate necklace chain. All totaled, including the stones: 0.9dwt. Maltese Cross has a runner in center - looks almost Olympic in nature. The Sterling pendant has a natural turquoise, the men's class ring is in good shape. Good varied group. See all photos. Denver Mint 1959 Proof Set. These vintage badges are hard to find and very collectible. "San Diego CA Special 78 Oakland, CA" on the back: "Sterling Ed. Jones" The horse looks like gold plated over brass to me. The entire badge weighs 31.5 dwt. Just beautiful! Really - these will not disappoint you. The crucifix is marked Sterling and the name on the back is "Mary Hess". The lovely lidded container is also marked Sterling. The large amulet is marked Jerusalem, Jordan, Silver, and 950. See the photos. These pieces are absolutely elegant and were obviously cherished. All items total 32.6 dwt. The beautiful chased heart is sterling. The closure on it does not seem to stay closed well - a tiny adjustment. The Walnut sewing kit is not sterling. I am not certain it is not painted plastic. The thimble is gold painted plastic. Nursery Rhyme Beautiful sterling baby rattle. In wonderful shape, but there is no "rattle" inside of it. This one does have the rattle inside. Really nice vintage rattle. Both Sterling - Vintage glider wings and tie tac with "Berlin" in center. So, folks, you just cannot make this stuff up….the horse pin is sterling and beautiful but then we have the amulet or charm that has the Sterling Horse Pin and Horse Hind Parts horse's end on it. I can only assume this is a "his and hers" set. Maybe you know someone who you think must missing their official "Charm". horse's *#% charm. This, my friends, is your opportunity. The top banner part with gavel has 10kt on it. The bottom with the cross and chain is not marked. The Charm has a K S M on one side and an I S E on the other side spaced out strangely. I studied it a while and realized that if you spin it, you could see the words, "KISS ME" on it. Okay, so it is not the Code, but I think rather brilliant of me from Nokomis, IL.
