Performance Notes
 Dancers should report to their assigned dressing area one-half hour prior to the
performance time (see charts on next page) and check in with the parent
chaperone for their class. [Parent Chaperones should arrive 45 minutes prior to
performance time]
2

Dancers must remain in dressing areas prior to performances. NO WANDERING in the
building.

NO dancers are allowed in the auditorium during performances.

The auditorium will open thirty (30) minutes before the performance time. No one
(dancers, chaperones, or parents) will be allowed into the auditorium prior to the
opening of the house.

Please plan to stay for the entire performance. It is very distracting to other audience
members and to student performers when audience members stand and depart during
a performance.

For Ticket Information see page eight of this guide.

The Fine Arts Association has hired a professional videographer to record the recital. A
professionally made DVD will be available for purchase. For more information, please
see the General Information section of this guide.

ABSOLUTELY NO RECORDING DEVICES using flash photography WILL BE
ALLOWED TO BE USED IN THE AUDITORIUM DURING PERFORMANCE(S).
Please respect our policy.

Students will be expected to stay for the entire rehearsal & performance unless
otherwise noted.

Please provide some simple entertainment for your student while waiting for their turn
on stage (i.e. books, coloring books with colored pencils, games, etc. NO paints,
markers, glitter or glue PLEASE).

Leave valuables at home. FAA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Ipods and
electronic video games are acceptable as long as they are not a distraction. Again,
STUDENTS are responsible for any items brought to rehearsals or performances.

Students should wear or bring “practice clothes” to ALL rehearsals and performances,
even if it is a dress rehearsal. Students must wear the assigned color tights, leotard,
and accessories for both dress rehearsals and performances. [Check with instructor for
these requirements.]

NO ONE is allowed in the backstage area except the performers preparing to go on
stage. Chaperones must wait in the hallway outside the backstage door.

Please do not take children from the chaperoned areas before the completion of their
rehearsal. For safety and security purposes, we need to know where your child is at all

WILL NOT PERFORM IN THE RECITAL!

6

Mrs. Sandi Fink will coordinate parents to assist with chaperoning small groups for
rehearsals and performances. You will be contacted to confirm your help.

Please make sure to sign your child in and out with the group chaperone.

Only parents who have volunteered as a chaperone are allowed in the dressing areas
after check in. These volunteers will have a volunteer tag/pass and no one without a
pass will be allowed in these areas during rehearsal or performance.

Due to dual recitals, we recognize that chaperone needs will be different than in
previous years. Volunteers will receive a 50% off ticket voucher for chaperoning a time
slot for the recital other than the one their child is scheduled to attend.

Children under the age of three are free (do not need a ticket). No strollers and no
child carriers in the auditorium.

Tickets are for general admission. There are no reserved seats. The auditorium will
open for seating at 6:30 p.m. prior to the 7:00 p.m. performances and 1:30 p.m. for
the 2:00 p.m. performance.

Dancers do NOT need a ticket for the performance in which they are participating.

“Babes in arms” are discouraged in the auditorium. This not only creates a distraction
for audience members, but for the performers on stage as well. We welcome all
children; however, most children under the age of 3 will not appreciate a performance
in its entirety. Therefore, please use good judgment, so as not to ruin your, or anyone
else’s, experience. The Fine Arts Association reserves the right to ask patrons to leave
a performance for disturbances without refund.
