First United Methodist Church-‐Cary Charge Conference Meeting Minutes-‐May 21, 2015 Pastor of Christian Formation, Rev. Martha McLean presided over the called Charge Conference. The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm. Mark Schneider, Lay Leader, led the group in a devotion and prayed for direction from God. The first order of business was to receive and act on a recommendation of the Nominations Committee for Church Council members. Rev. Dr. Carl Frazier, Chair of Nominations Committee reminded attendees of the prayerful discernment process used to match names with positions. He then presented new nominations. Rev. Martha McLean called for a vote. The Charge Conference unanimously approved the Nominations report. (Report attached). The next order of business was to receive and act on a recommendation by SPPRC for a candidate and compensation for the position of Pastor of Senior Adult Ministry. Mark Schneider, Lay Leader, proposed Reverend Heather Wong. Rev. Martha McLean then called for the Charge Conference to take a vote on the recommendation by SPPRC. The Charge Conference unanimously approved the recommendation of Heather Wong for Pastor of Senior Adult Ministry as recommended by SPPRC. (Report attached). The Charge Conference adjourned at 7:35pm.
