On Saturday, February 19 th Corvettes West held its annual Casino Night. The gala event was held at the shop of Jim and Carol Walker, who host the event every year. Walkers also headed the setup and decorations, which were very festive. The evening was kicked off with a potluck dinner. The food was great, which was only topped by the conversation and fun. 62 Corvettes West members, family and guests were in attendance. Following the potluck dinner, the casino games began. Games included Texas Hold ‘em (poker), Black Jack, Bingo and Mexican Train (dominoes). Players used “Corvette Bucks” for betting in the games. Five dollars in U.S. currency bought one hundred dollars in “Corvette Bucks.” At the conclusion of the casino games, the auction began. CW members and businesses donated prizes to be auctioned off. “Corvette Bucks” were used to bid on and buy the donated items. The auctioneer was CW President Ron Skaley. This event is one of Corvettes West’s biggest fundraisers of the year. After expenses, this year’s Casino Night raised $226 for Corvettes West. The fun wrapped up at about 10:30pm. It was a great night of fun for all who participated. I want you to prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, I expect a scrumptious dessert. Then, after dinner, you are going to draw me my bath so I can relax.
