Please join in prayer together: Lord, your Son has called all of us into adventures
of learning and serving. Today we celebrate those who have answered that
call in a special way. We thank You for them and this moment of joyous
celebration. Continue to challenge all of us to grow in Christian service, that Your
Kingdom may become a reality in and through our lives. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Gracious Heavenly Father,
You create life from the earth on which we dwell
and breathe into it new life and meaning.
Graciously you empower us with knowledge and skills
to aid one another as we live out our life on this earth.
Bless our gathering this day
as we recall your grace and kindness to these young lives
and celebrate the endings and beginnings of the opportunities you provide.
Empower us all to live lives worthy of the callings you offer,
that we may strengthen one another and your creation
as we walk together with you through this life.
In Christ Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

OFFERTORY PRAYER
John Huneycutt
God of infinite patience, as the children of Israel sought an earthly king over your
heavenly rule, so too we have too often put our hope and trust in flawed human beings
to rule over us. We complain when they disappoint us in their inability to bring change,
yet we have failed to see that the change that you would seek for creation must come
from within us. As we offer our tithes and offerings to you this day, may we also lay
down our resistance to allowing you to be the one who rules our lives, not from the
outside but from the inside. And may the gifts we give help shape a world that better fits
your vision for creation. In the name of Christ, we pray. Amen.

John Huneycutt
As your classes and grading are now complete,
may you strive toward excellence in all you do.
As the speeches conclude,
may your voices rise up to pronounce justice and peace in the world.
As the fanfares cease,
may you sing of joy, even in the dark and lonely places.
As the applause quiets, may you celebrate and lift up those around you.
As you graduate or have graduated,
may your achievements grow and cause growth in your communities.
And may we all know of the overwhelming blessings of the One who created all things.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
2 Corinthians 13:3-9 HCSB
3 Since you seek proof of Christ speaking in me. He is not weak toward you, but
powerful among you. 4 In fact, He was crucified in weakness, but He lives by God’s
power. For we also are weak in Him, yet toward you we will live with Him by God’s
power. 5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you
yourselves not recognize that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless you fail the test. 6 And I
hope you will recognize that we do not fail the test. 7 Now we pray to God that you do
nothing wrong—not that we may appear to pass the test, but that you may do what is
right, even though we may appear to fail. 8 For we are not able to do anything against
the truth, but only for the truth. 9 In fact, we rejoice when we are weak and you are
strong. We also pray that you become fully mature.
