Like many San Diegans, Carmen recently lost her job and is looking for work. Aaron’s dad has steady work as a mechanic, but his job doesn’t provide health insurance for the family. Thankfully, Carmen found our health center so her active preschooler gets all of the healthcare services he needs! Breast Pump Loan Program August was National Breast Feeding month and our partners showed their support in a big way. Thanks to the San Diego Breastfeeding Coalition and Rest Haven Children’s Fund, Family Health Centers of San Diego now has a new breast pump loan program! Through the program, we can loan 10 multi-user electric pumps to new moms. Breast milk is best for babies, and now we can better support new breast feeding moms who can not afford to purchase the pumps on their own. We just received a federal school based health center grant to establish a health center on the campus of Rice Elementary in Chula Vista! The new health center will open in 2012 through a partnership with the Chula Vista Elementary School District. It will provide healthcare services to Rice students, helping them stay healthy and in school, as well as their families and local community. Everyone is excited about the new health center at Rice Elementary in Chula Vista! Will: Instructions to guide distribution of your property or estate. When used in tandem with a revocable living trust, it normally directs the distribution of personal property. Executor: Person or entity chosen to carry out the terms of your will; sometimes referred to as a “personal representative.” Power of Attorney: A legal document empowering others to take action on your behalf. Durable Powers of Attorney are used for the purpose of empowering others if you become incapacitated. Advance Health Care Directive: A document that declares your wishes outlining medical care and life support. This document is also used to appoint someone to make medical decisions on your behalf if you are unable to make these decisions for yourself.
