Six —A- Side Cricket Tournament
Date: 10th May 2015 at P Sara Oval Grounds
RULES OF THE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
1) The Cricket tournament will be held from 7AM -6PM on 10th May 2015 at P Sara Oval Grounds. (Tamil
Union) All teams must report to the Ground before 7AM
2) The selection of teams for the 1st round of matches will be done thru a draw. Any team that does not
report at the specified time will be disqualified from the tournament. The company representative must be
present at the "Draw" to know more details about the cricket tournament.
3) An innings will consist of five (05) overs. Every player except the Wicket-keeper shall bowl. In the event of
rain or any other reason effect the play time, organizing committee reserves the right to reduce the number of
overs or balls per over to continue the tournament.
4) T-Shirts, Balls, Lunch will be provided for team members and it is compulsory to wear the given T-Shirt
during the matches. No shorts will be allowed.
5) A registration fee is applicable for each team (FITIS Members Rs.8, 000/-, Non Members Rs.10, 000/-)
each member company will be allowed to enter a maximum of 2 teams.
6) Entry Forms should be submitted with certified copies of the NIC's & Photographs of players with their
signatures to avoid unnecessary issues.
7) An over started must be completed under all circumstance, unless the batting team is declared all out. Each
bowler can ball only one over per match.
a). Wide and No-ball count as four (04) runs each to the batting side, and an extra ball will be bowled on both
occasions.
b). If a batsman is run-out off a wide or a no ball, the penalty of four (04) runs will remain.
c). If the number of runs taken off a wide or No-ball, exceeds the penalty, the number of runs scored will be
credited to the batting side. The penalty of four (04) runs, under these circumstances, does not therefore
arise.
d). the matches will be played on knock out basis.
8) In the event of a tie,
a). If after five overs each side, the match ends in a tie, each Wicket-keeper shall bowl one over.
b).A new innings (one over each side) will be played for the purpose, the fielding side at the time continuing to
field.
c). should the result still remain a tie after this extra over, the winner shall be decided by the toss of a coin
spun in the presence of the officiating Umpires.
9) If the Wicket-keeper has to bowl the extra over, another member of the team will act as Wicket-keeper

10) Before the tournament commences, the Captain of each team shall hand over/make available to the
Organizers-viz. The tournament committee, a list of his team which shall comprise seven (07) players, of
whom six (06) shall be nominated before each match.
11) If a player is injured during a match, the usual law regarding substitutes shall not apply for the particular
match in that the substitutes will be permitted to function in the place of the replaced player
12) The players must be authorized by the company CEO or MD of each team with each player's national ID
number and name and the photograph should be produced to the FITIS Hardware Chapter on or before the
30th April 2015 as per the given format along with the Entry Form. Clear NIC/ Passport / DL copy to be
attached.
13) All team players must be an employee of the company minimum for 3 months.
14) Any team using players who are not employees of the representing organization or violating any rules of
the tournament is liable for immediate disqualification.
15) The organizing committee reserves right to change these rules and grant or deny any team permission to
play in this tournament.
16) If you have any concerns / complaints, about players & teams please bring it to the notice of the
organizing committee prior to a particular match, any complaints during a match will be inquired post match.
17) The organizing committee requests all the participants to maintain good behavior at all times, to foster the
industry relationship.
18) We request you to be careful with your valuables & the Organizing committee will not take any
responsibility of any loses.
19) In the event of any damage for the ground properties or people due to any misbehavior, organizing
committee will intervene to settle it amicably between both parties.
20) The teams must keep sufficient people in the score board to identify players.
21) If two teams are participating in the tournament, the same player cannot pay for both the teams at any
time, the team will be disqualified.
22) No interval during the match, Ones you finish batting, you need to stay back and field.
23) L.B.W is given out. No excuses because its softball or 6's side.
