A few weeks ago Ms Staniford and I took a
team of four Year 7-8 students to compete in
the Hawkes Bay Kids Literature Competition.
They were Millie Haszard, Elijah Ioane,
Katarina Te Whaiti and Leah Jones. This is a
competition for students who love reading.
Teams are given different categories with ten
questions to answer in each category. After
ten rounds the winner is announced. The
winner for the fifth year in a row was Taradale
Intermediate. They now go onto the National
competition. This is only the second time our
school has had a team and I was very proud of
their efforts. They were very consistent getting
6-7 questions correct in most rounds. A big
thanks to Ms Staniford for her help and to the
students for your hard work leading up to the
competition.

Dairy Diary Day 1 - Today we
went to the farm for calf club.
When we got there Harmony had
to cut the number and put them in the hat so our class
could get our calf. When I got my calf I was so scared
because mine kept pulling me. When I got used to my calf
I groomed it, let it suck on my hand. Then I took Daisy
around the paddock and then I groomed Daisy till she was
clean and then we made the milk and we let go of the
calves and gave them their milk. Then we had lunch.
