The great ‘Rabbie’ Burns once wrote something about “the best laid plans a moose and men oft gang awry”. And so it was that in last week’s newsletter, principalian typing skills did indeed gang awry ­ albeit briefly. The upshot is that in congratulating Ma’am’selles Lauren Bailey and Seryn McDermott on their Media Mash Awards finals appearance; Lauren inadvertently came through the prof­reading process as ‘Laura’. Sincere apologies for any distress caused Laurel ­ we have taken robust steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen again. Update - Seryn and Lauren win!
At last night’s red­carpet event, room 6’s Lauren Bailey and Seryn McDermott went home with the years 0­3 e­book winner’s prize; and very Oscar­esque statuette! To add to the night’s success; the room 11 girls (Gemma McAllister, Abby Barraclough, Kate McNaughton, Kheelan Thompson­Tonga, and Ruby McDonald were third in the years 4­6 documentary section with their “Cyber Bullying” message. features in the finals of the documentary section. The mobile dental clinic is situated at Ascot School in Tay Street and has spaces available at the moment to see any children that may have issues. Please phone them for an appointment. Absolutely fabulous defense and attacking from the Wizards this week. Yet another close encounter, the game score ending up a 10 all draw and the buzzer went just as another shot was going to go in. P.O. D. Sam White, with 6 points. Congratulations to all players you really listened to your coach and made spaces throughout the court. The Shooters impressively won 13­6 by playing more as a team. Passing to each other and backing each other up. Well done P.O.D. Ryan White In a struggle to enjoy the roughest game of the season, the Bouncers can be proud of themselves. They held their own, but with no subs lost 13­8. The whole team learnt to play a bit more aggressively. P.O.D Caleb Witheford. Thanks to all the wonderful bench controllers too. Forward planning for 2015 and wanting to make a register of all our local community visual artists. It would be great to have a list of names, especially direct whanua/families who are artists of any kind.
