Artists Exhibition Application Form

We are inviting all artists, amateur, professional or ‘aspiring’ to exhibit their art at the Village
Club exhibition and in venues throughout the village.!
!
All art forms are welcome including painting / drawing, mixed media, sculpture, 3D, installation.!
!

You will be required to specify the type of display board/s and or table you need, please see the
attached layout which is for illustration purposes only.!

For example If you want a table standing in front of a 5’3” X 5’3” display board that will be a total
of £24!

You will also be required to submit a minimum of one piece of work to be displayed in a village
window, which can also be for sale. We will supply artists stand names and a name badge for the
private view and stewardship.!
!
REMEMBER Bookings for space are taken chronologically so get your application in as soon as
possible to make sure you have the best chance of getting your requested space.!
!

!CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
!
1. All work must be original and the copyright of the artist!
!
2. The organisers reserve the right to select artists, work and exhibition locations.!
!
3. Money will be returned for any work that cannot be exhibited.!
!
4. Work and its installation must meet basic health and safety requirements.!
!
5. Main exhibition venue will be stewarded. Items are left at the artist’s own risk and liability. Insurance
for the work is entirely the responsibility of the artist.!
!
6. Display boards are provided for the main venue. All work must arrive ready to be displayed with any
necessary fixing and display materials, include proper and secure attachments for hanging if
required. 5’ 3” X 5’ 3” boards have their own hooks, which we supply, but all other boards require
screws to hang, which you will need to supply.!
!
7. The artists will be expected to hang / arrange the display of their work within your allocated hanging
time slot, excepting that displayed in the residents’ windows, or village churches if required, which
will be hung by a member of the committee.!
!
8. All artwork and equipment must be securely labelled with artist’s name, name of the artwork and
contact number. The artist is expected to provide a corresponding LIST OF EXHIBITS with prices on
the form provided for the sales information.!
!
9. Artwork is to be sold through the gallery only, with 10% commission taken at source for Flushing Art
Week. Sales are dealt with by the exhibition staff only. Artists will be paid within 21 days of the end of
the exhibition. !
In return artists are expected to steward for at least ½ day.!
!
10. Any private arrangements will result in all the artist’s work being removed and barred from future
events.!
!
11. It is not a requirement that work is for sale.!
!
12. The artist must have their work displayed with labels prior to the opening of the exhibition. It must
remain in place throughout the exhibition, unless replacement work is provided!
!
13. All work must be removed promptly if not it may be deemed to be unwanted and maybe sold, with
proceeds going to Flushing Art Week. The artist will be charged for any unwanted work that incurs a
removal or storage cost.!

application.

10.00 exhibition opens to the public
Saturday 30th May
17.00 exhibition closes followed by takedown of work up to 20.00,
please arrive by 19.00 at the latest, or on Sunday 31st May morning
only by prior arrangement 10.00 - 11.00
