Hello everyone and thank you for choosing to fly for Dominican Airways, la aerolinea dominicana. I want to start off by saying thank you for joining this great team and we hope that you are with us for a very long time. This virtual airline was started by me as a small summer project and never expected it to get to where it is today, we have been in service for the last four years and have over 100 pilots flying with us. With you joining us today I want you to please take the time and read through this small document to learn about what we expect from our pilots. These polices have been made from experience that we have gained over the last four years and are things that we believe will make your virtual airline experience a much more realistic one. Sincerely, Orlandy Perez – Chief Executive Officer of DAW Staff Positions Staff Restrictions and Policies Must fly only for Dominican Virtual Airways and Partners Must be able to maintain an active presence in the virtual airline. All pilot rules must be followed by staff as they are leaders in the virtual airline. Must respect his/her fellow staff and pilots but also not over use his/her leadership role to benefit them and only them. Must stay in contact with CEO at all time and make the CEO award of any changes that are going to be done before they are planned or put into place. If any staff members are not able to follow the following rules it will result in immediate termination from their staff roles until they feel that they are able to. Pilot Policies The following policies are to followed by every pilot if the following policies are not followed it will result in either your immediate termination from the airline or a mark on your pilot record. I. Brand new pilot must complete their first flight within two weeks of joining the airline. All other pilots must fly at least once every month unless told otherwise by airline official. II. We have age requirement here at Dominican Airways but we do ask that you are professional in the virtual airline. III. Charter flights must be communicated with airline officials at [email protected] before being done. IV. Flights must be done with aircraft that is assigned to that flight. V. If pilot is going to be inactive for an extended amount of time please relay this to airline officials at [email protected]. VI. Landing rates for flights must not exceed a -500 decent rate, if higher it will result in flight not being accepted. VII. Using slew during the flight if it is used flight will not be accepted. VIII. Pilots must provide an active email for us to communicate rules and news to you. IX. All flights must be done using a flight tracker approved by us, if flight is filed manually please contact airline officials letting us know why flight was filed manually. X. If flying for a partner airline please relay that on the flight tracker when submitting the flight. XI. We do allow pilots from other airlines to transfer their hours over to Dominican Airways we only allow 150 hours to be transferred with prof of those hours actually being done. Leave of Absence All pilots are allowed to take a leave of absence from the airline if they need it. You are allowed up to 100 days off of the airline at one. We do not require prof for the reason why you are taking the LOA but the human resource officer will decide if your reason is eligible for the LOA. Pilots that require a longer LOA (more than 100 days) please contact human resource and they will handle your case from there. If a pilot flies during their LOA they are added more days to their LOA depending on how many days they flew during their LOA. If a pilot does not fly at all once their LOA is finished they will be terminated from the virtual airline.
